American Romanticism In The 1800's

The romantic period in American history came around during the early 1800’s. It was an artistic and literary movement that started in Europe and eventually spread to America. Romanticism was used in many songs, art, poems, and stories during this time. It included a lot of emotion and colors used to describe and create stories.

There were many stories and poems created during this period and some of the stories are still read today. The authors during this time period used more emotion rather than reason in their stories. Some of the stories were used as political influences. Music was also a large part of this period, the songs that were made used a lot of emotion and they are romantic songs. Even though this type of music came around a long time ago, people are still using this style of music to create their songs. There were many authors who created stories during this time period and people are still reading their stories today. Some famous authors whose stories we read were Edgar Allan Poe, and Nathaniel Hawthorne. Poe wrote many poems and short stories about mystery, and he is very famous today. Hawthorne wrote novels about romanticism. He also wrote short stories. It shows how this time period influenced and was important to American history because people still read these authors romantic novels and learn about the authors from the 1800’s. This time period influenced people to write and think more creatively and they made some very popular pieces of literature, and it had a huge impact on the way people thought and wrote stories.
