American Sniper
After seeing the film, American Sniper, it absolutely met and exceeded my expectations. Everything from the quality of life during war, to the actual fear both sides faced, was shown in great detail during the film. One thing that stood out to me was how the directors and writers depicted the enemy’s lifestyle. Many war movies today only focus on the American side of war. During this movie it showed the struggles and hard times that the Iraqi people faced.
I identified really well with the main character, Chris Kyle, as I watched the movie. What really hit home was how much he missed his family and the way of life back in the United States. After seeing the move it has made me appreciate the many sacrifices that our men and service women make to keep our country safe. This movie does a great job of putting that into perspective and sharing with us the hardships of true warfare. This movie was definitely a rewarding experience for me. It opened my eyes to how warfare really is. Plus it briefly touched on the death of Chris Kyle. It gave me more information on his murder and that his killer was struggling with a severe case of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
The learning experience from this movie and Chris’s death is that the brotherhood that these Army veterans have is above all else. Even though Chris made it through numerous tours of duty he decides to take on the mission of helping a struggling fellow war veteran. He knew that this would be a challenging task and he was up for it.
The promotion of this film was dead on. It appealed to those who are patriotic and intrigued by action, adventure and drama. It is a great film that I would recommend to any adult. The lessons that I learned from this film will stick with me for a long time. Chris Kyle is a true American hero and deserves to go down in history as one of Americas best soldiers ever.
