First, human right equality such as race was different in view. In the 19th century, school was segregated due to racism. Black and white were not allowed to mingle and to even date. Women stayed at home and couldn’t work outside their home. Men were impose over their wife used them too as a property. Very few women stand against it due to fear. From the story of “The Revolt of Mother”, I read about her hardship she did to please her husband but her husband did not acknowledge it and he did not keep his promise. She was of the few women who had courage to stand tall and confront her husband. Back then it seems like it was sins for women to go against their husband will even though it was wrong. In contrast in today’s age, women are almost equal. When I say almost equal is because of the equal pay that is still in debate for women to be pay the same as men. Women can perform many things than before such as going to work, provides, joint the military, and make decision of their own. They are no ones property. They are respected like anyone else. Most men help women in the kitchen
