As Joe Barton once said, “Our flag honors those who have fought to protect it, and is a reminder of the sacrifice of our nation’s founders heros.” Our flag is not to be knelt upon, but to stand as one together, remembering how Veterans risked their lives everyday to go to war and give us freedom today. The least we can do is to thank you. You gave me a future, freedom of speech, and an education, and so many more things.
None of you deserve to be spat upon. You deserve to be honored.
Our Veterans fought for a reason, and it’s not so that we can dishonor our flag and country. It’s so that we can all proudly stand to our National Anthem as one unit. America’s gift to my generation is that we are independant.
Veterans fought for us so that we could be free one day and have our own rules and beliefs. We don’t need to argue with one another. We need to show love, kindness and thankfulness to our Veterans.
It all starts when the explorers found the New World. Our Ancestors gave it the life to keep it alive, and our Veterans fought to keep it the America we know today. America’s gift to me today is that we can all celebrate that we are free. Personally, we can stand and cheer as our Veterans pass by in parades. We salute those who fought for us, and to those who did not make it. But in the end, we all rise together and remember that we are an independent country.
Our Veterans gave us a very special gift. We can speak with dauntlessness, go to church every Sunday without being thrown into prison, we can speak our own opinions.
My last gift is that I can have an education. I can choose my own schooling. Anybody can choose what they want to do with their upcoming future. Additionally, anyone can choose what religions to follow.
In the end, we thank you Veterans. Thank you for fighting for our lives so that we can be the Land of the Free. Thank you for making us an Independent Country. Thank you for giving us the education we can have today. You deserve the very best. Today, we can all stand as one, everyday, together, for the rest of our lives. Thank you for your phenomenal service.
