Dear John Hawkins, My name is Amanda Trevino and I attend Gila Ridge High School. In English class, we were asked to read and express our opinions about the piece of writing that we had chosen. I chose your article “5 Ways America Is Creating a Generation of Wimps.” In your article you are trying to convince the readers that our new generation is a bunch of wimps that can’t do anything else but live their lives in a video game. In your article you used a hasty generalization in order to try and convince your readers. You used a hasty generalization when you stated that people who play video games are wimps. I think that the people that would believe these fallacies are older men and women because they lived before the generation of Americans changed. I did not fall for this fallacy because I don't like or play any sort of video games. When you stated the fallacy I felt like you were a bit rude because you were implying that everyone is wimps because everyone plays video games. This article does matter because it makes people realize and see what they are making this generation turn into which is, a bunch of wimps. I believe that your article was clear and easy to understand and I also think that you got your point out there very well, so many people will be able to understand what you are trying to talk about. Your writing was both entertaining and persuasive because in the article it said interesting things that made me want to keep reading and it also persuaded me into thinking that this generation of Americans are actually turning into wimps because all they do is rely on video
