Amorahs: A Narrative Fiction
Morgana walked over to the bed and saw Benjamin close his eyes hoping to trick her into believing that he had gotten a good nights rest. Benjamin slightly twitched when he felt Morgana place her soft hand on his forehead to see if he had a fever. The prince waited for Morgana to back away from the bed so he could pretend to wake up when his childhood friends stuffed a dirty washcloth into his mouth. Morgana backed away from Benjamin not wanting to get spit on her when his body tried to cough up the washcloth. Benjamin gagged so loudly that he woke up Amora who came running to see what was wrong with him. Amora pulled the washcloth out of Benjamin's mouth allowing his lungs to fill with air. Amora became overcome with rage when she heard Morgana cackling like a wild dog. The princess tightened her grip and tossed the washcloth at Morgana. …show more content…
Benjamin began to laugh, but his laughter was murdered when Amora looked at him her eyes a literal canyon of fire and death. “Must you two always act like children,” Amora screamed at the top of her lungs! Hearing this two elven guards that were patrolling the hallway ran into the bedroom. Amora's rage appeared to vanish when she politely asked the guards to leave the room. The princess was so kind to them that the guards had huge smiles on their faces when they shut the bedroom door.. The second that the guards left the room Amora's anger returned, and she looked over at Morgana who was wiping the water off of her face with the godawful smelling blanket. “As I was saying you two must stop having these petty arguments and pulling this moronic pranks on one another,” Amora said her voice full of anger. “What happens if we don't,” Benjamin asked? “If you don't the next time I see you argue or prank one another I will tie you both to a tree and set you on

At the beginning of this unit I knew little to nothing about the world outside the boundaries created by my mother, which is a mile radius of my house. I cared an infinitesimal amount about things that didn't affect me directly. However, that changed drastically after reading The Story of Zahra and also after the presentation of my fellow peers. The aspect that caught my attention the most was the treatment of women, just because of the fact that I can relate to it the most. I have always known that women were inferior in comparison to men, that was common sense to me and about 50% of the world population. Despite the fact that I knew the struggle most women in other countries have to endure I was naïve to the exact extent that they had to struggle. Reading The Story of Zahra took some of that ignorance I had and widen up my perception greatly.…

The dialogue between these two characters shows the hatred that they feel for each other. Nanna is an old woman who enjoys smoking her pipe by the fire but she cannot even have that little pleasure without Mena complaining “There’s a smell of smoke” Nanna claims it’s from the open fire but Mena replies disrespectfully “Not turf smoke, oul’ woman, tobacco smoke” Nanna can give as good as she gets and tells Mena “’twas a sore day my son took you for a wife” Nanna is able to use the fact that Mena and her husband Mike have no children as a way of insulting her daughter-in-law – She tells Mena “Tis hard enough for a lonely old woman without a child to rock in the cradle” Mena replies viciously “the back of my hand to you for an oul’ hag!”…
