First of all, many employees around the world are facing despair due to technology replacing jobs and creating new ones.
Entrepreneurs and many businessmen are for technology replacing workers, they would spend less money hiring people compared to making more profit with just several machines. This situation can relate to Walt Whitman’s poem “I Hear America Singing”. The poem explains all the jobs that previously occupied the United States such as boatmen, shoemakers, and masons. Whitman wrote, “Each singing what belongs to him or her and to no one else.” it shows how in the past era every individual had their own respective task to fulfill. Somewhere in the near future, these roles will be substituted by robots who can easily accomplish them. Furthermore, some of the millennial jobs that will not be of access to us are cashiers, transportation workers, teachers, and postal services. Eventually, robots would fulfill these tasks with
ease. Equally Important, times are progressing fast and along with that technology is as well. Newfound machines will soon be able to make our daily tedious tasks convenient for the human race. According to the video “Shift Happens” in 2008 there “31 billion searches on Google every month” that number has increased in the past 2 years from 2.7 billion. Google provides us with information for anything we can think of. Along with the population rates significantly increasing, more and more people are being born into the technical era. Their future will have occupations based on what current business is up and approaching. They will create things that not only save us time but benefit us. The future will be a time for a change. Moreover, an abundance of technology can harm us instead of aiding us. As inventors create new technology they add traits that can make the machines brilliant and indestructible. There could be no way to outsmart them since they are programmed to beat us. Thus even though these machines are capable of helping us they can also manipulate us. An instance similar to this would be a film that goes by the title “Ex Machina”. In the film, Ava is an android who is expected to possess artificial intelligence. Caleb is a man chosen by Nathan who created Ava to undergo a Turing test to see if Ava is capable of being the final model of an experiment. Ava uses her sexuality and wits to her advantage to manipulate Caleb into getting her out of the room she was trapped in. Eventually, her plan succeeds and she betrays Caleb leaving him isolated. This demonstrates that as great as an android or machine can seem they can easily use you for their own benefit. Robots will evolve even more than humans, “Soon they (androids) will look at us humans the same way we look at fossils.” - A quote from Ex Machina.
In conclusion, the world is advancing with technology every minute. The way the generation is adjusting to these many changes is by creating more ways to improve and make technology better. Also, we are supporting it by buying these inventions such as phones and laptops. As more variations of these items are released the public will continue to purchase them. Starting from now and going on technology will not be going away anytime soon. In fact, we have already entered a new age, the electronic age.
