This is an analysis of a television show that has a social class theme. The selected television show is Tyler Perry’s House of Payne. This is a broadcast that has thirteen characters and it is based on an African American family day to day life. The head of the family is Curtis Payne and Ella Payne is his wife they have one son who is in college name Calvin Payne. Curtis is the chief of the fire department in Atlanta, Georgia and his nephew and family has come to live with them. The social theme of this show is the life of a working class family that has many trials and tribulations but through all the heart break and crisis they still love each other and work together as one.
As I was viewing the show House of Payne I observed Curtis Payne getting up every day and preparing for work. While Ella fixes breakfast for Curtis she often finds herself feeding her grown son Calvin, her nephew CJ and his two kids. So Curtis goes to work and Ella does as a traditional homemaker would do and maintain the house by cooking, cleaning, and shopping. CJ and his family first came to stay with his uncle and aunt because his drug addicted wife sets the house on fire and they became homeless. Another scene was in the mornings Curtis and CJ get up and head to the fire station but before they go they sit down as a family with CJ kids and have breakfast. Well every morning Curtis points and talks to Calvin and the kids as if they are being fussed at and CJ seems to
