An Idea About Happines
An idea about happiness by Artem Polischuk

“Most people are as happy, as they make up their minds to be”
Abraham Lincoln
There is hardly a person in the world who could really define such a complicated feeling as happiness. First of all a man must realize and know what it means. It often happens that a great amount of people only pretend to know something about happiness. It also happens that people realize how happy they are but they don’t speak about it.
I can’t claim that I know what happiness is. It can’t be a matter of good fortune or worldly possession. It comes from appreciating what we have, instead of complaining about what we don’t. All I can tell you is that when you are happy, you feel it with all your heart. When you are happy you always seem to lack words. You are not walking – you are flying. You are like the sun, the sky, the flowers all in one, inseparable. Everything then seems different. The trees are greener, the stars shine brighter, the moon is kinder. You feel like everything goes right, as it should be. You feel as a young Spring enlivening the nature, as an amazing Summer warming everyone. You are dynamite of feelings and emotions.
May be someone else’s happiness expresses itself in a little bit different way. People differ greatly and so does their understanding of happiness can’t last long; if it did, then it would not be happiness – we couldn’t feel it, we’d get used to it.
To my mind we are happy when we love, are kind and tolerant to people around us, make others happy and have something to give to them like a myrtle in a valley that breathes in fragrance into space for everyone to enjoy

What is happiness? That is not a question that may be easily answered. Due to the fact that every human-being possesses their own views on life, it is possible that there are innumerable interpretations of what is ultimately this idea seen as happiness. For the purpose of interpreting the idea of happiness as opposed to “being happy” I believe that it is necessary that there be a more continual and perpetual meaning is attached to happiness. I do not believe that actual happiness is a fleeting experience, but instead, a lasting state in which someone finds themselves. When looking to a dictionary or other source of reference to determine an official and concrete meaning behind happiness, the Miriam-Webster…

According the Oxford Dictionary, the definition of Happiness is being pleased, being satisfied, and being lucky (Oxford Dictionary). However, the definition of being happy is different for everyone. There are many elements to one person’s happiness, whether that be fame or fortune, or something that most take advantage of such as a roof over their head, or dinner on the table every night. Happiness is an emotion that can be uncontrolled, and is forever changing. Expectations are a major reason why a person’s happiness is manipulated every second of everyday. According to a health website “Positive Med,” there are six major emotions which include anger, fear, surprise, disgust, happiness, and sadness. According to this, happiness only occurs…

Happiness is felt when someone loves somebody and that person loves them back. Love gives people feelings of happiness and makes us feel better not only about ourselves, but our relationships with others. For instance, if Stacy loves Tom and she tells Tom that she loves him, she would feel very happy if he said that he loved her too. But, if Tom told Stacy that although she loved him, he still hated her, she would not feel very happy at all.…

Thomas Szasz once said, “Happiness is an imaginary condition, formerly often attributed by the living to the dead, now usually attributed by adults to children and by children to adults.” Though this was said in 1996, it is still true 17 years later. Happiness is in fact real although, groups of people tend to view other groups of people as more happy, such as Szasz’ example of children to adults. As I myself am still slightly within childhood I can atest to Szasz’ point, using my more extreme view of adulthood from when I was younger. As a child it is often easy to think that adults are more happy, considering in a childs mind an adult can do whatever they please (most importantly in a child’s mind going to bed whenever they please).…

Well everyone has their own definitions of what it means to them. The dictionary definition is a feeling or showing pleasure and contentment. Happy is what you make it for yourself, the definition is almost never the same throughout your life because as you grow as a person, it can change and I have seen that in my own life. When I was younger , I defined happy as having all the toys I wanted and candy, I was happy if my parents gave me money for the school supply store, they had every Friday at vinal so I could buy myself those little cell phone erasers. When I was younger being happy was about all the materialistic thing, but I have learned that does not really matter. Today, I define happiness as having fun in your in your life and being able to laugh and smile, being content with what you have, seeing the joy that comes from all the beautiful things in the world. That is how I define happy today who knows how I will define happy in the future, it could be the same or could…
