In Alex Sheremet’s essay “Where Ebert Went Wrong: Roger Ebert On Woody Allen” many techniques are used to integrate other writers' quotations into his own work. He obviously uses many quotes from Robert Ebert’s critique of many of Woody Allen’s films, and he also uses others quotes to support his argument against Ebert.
" Well, in his take on the great Stardust Memories[8], for instance, Ebert simply dismisses the film, and while his reasons are well-written, they are all quite wrong, as
Dan Schneider carefully shows.[9"
He does tie it into his own text and injects his own opinion by stating that all of Ebert's reasons are "quite wrong". He also brings in the counter point from Dan Schneider to reinforce his argument about Ebert being

Ebert’s thesis is that all movies have a great meaning behind them. Just because a certain movie is extremely hyped and anticipated by the media doesn’t mean it’s any better than a movie that isn’t as widely known. Movies are meant to do something to a person after it is finished, whether or not they are inspired to do something or feel something. Ebert generally believes that these movies should be seen at a young age to spark something in people’s minds because he sees movies as something far more than just entertainment.…

Hayao Miyazaki’s clever mind has created a story that will have you reminiscing your childhood for sure. Back when we could play outdoors until the street lights came on, or we heard our mother and father yelling our names for dinner. Sisters, Mei and Satsuki take to their new home in the country quite well, and meet some not so believable creatures such as soot sprites, a flying cat, and totoros, who always seem to show up in times of distress. There’s a refreshing innocence about this movie that can only be appreciated by the open-minded and child at heart.…

In the quirky yet sophisticated film, Annie Hall (1977) comedian Alvy Singer (woody Allen) takes audience members on a detailed story of his life. Speaking directly to the audience in front of a bare background, Singer reflects briefly on his childhood and his early adult years before settling in to tell the modern romance story of how he and Ms. Annie Hall met. Throughout this film, Allen uses various cinematic techniques to contribute to the tone of the story. Allen makes a unique effort to accompany every one of Singers experiences in life with running commentary. Hence, with the use of interior monologue, static framing, deep focus and the use of natural lighting in a five shot sequence the intellectual wit and cultural references that this Oscar-winning picture achieved during the Golden Age of media is exemplified.…

Do not be critics, you people, I beg you. I was a critic and I wish I could take it all back because it came from a smelly and ignorant place in me, and spoke with a voice that was all rage and envy.
