The child has not told anyone because the child was non-responsive. Mom says she was inside the house and child was outside with Charles. I am unsure what Charles’s explanation was at this time. Law enforcement has interviewed him. DHS spoke to mom as well as Law Enforcement. The article I just read recently, was “Children’s Arrests in Bullying Case Distress Tennessee City” written by Christine Hauser. Hauser writes about how children of the ages of 12 years old were arrested for bullying a boy. There were 10 children involved who were pushing the boy into the street and trying to provoke him into making a move. One of the children was recording the whole incident while the boy was being beaten up and later had posted it on YouTube. After the arrest of the children’s parents and churches started to gather up at the city hall and demand the police officers to drop the charges described as “criminally responsible for the conduct of another”. Zacchaeus and LaVonia Crawford were later on revealed as the mothers…

. Despite the attack and much deliberation, Marley still played at the show. The motivation behind the attack was never uncovered, and Marley fled the country after the concert. Living in London, England, Marley worked on Exodus, which was released in 1977. The title track draws an analogy between the biblical story of Moses and the Israelites leaving exile and his own situation. The song discusses returning to Africa. The concept of Africans and descendents of Africans repatriating their homeland can be linked to the work of Marcus Garvey. Released as a single, “Exodus” was a hit in Britain, as were “Waiting in Vain” and “Jamming,” and the entire album stayed on the U.K. charts for more than a year. Today, Exodus is considered to be one of the best albums ever made. Marley had a health scare in 1977. He sought treatment on a toe he had injured earlier…
Where abuse is alleged or suspected, the initial response to the child should be limited to listening carefully to what the child says and respond appropriately we would then contact the children’s Social Care and make the referral. All individuals working with children have a duty and responsibility to report any child protection allegations and concerns which come to their attention.…

‘Carolyn is 21-years-old, and autistic with moderate intellectual disabilities. She attends a special school program to assist with her disabilities. On a recent field trip, Carolyn’s teacher left her and two male students unsupervised in the school van for a brief period of time. When the students returned to school, he showed the pictures to other students. Carolyn told her mother about what happened and her mother contacted APS for help.’…

There is a very large likelihood of sounding a false alarm. According to Debra Schilling Wolfe, “an executive director of the Field Center for Children’s policy, Practice & Research at the University of Pennsylvania” (“Child Abuse”), “Child abuse and neglect reports made by professionals are substantiated 27.4% of the time, while only 14.4% of nonprofessional reports are substantiated” (“Child Abuse”). Also, with a law requiring people to report suspected abuse with serious consequences for failing to do so, people could end up reporting even less accurately out of fear of the…
Upon discussing with both the local elementary school administrator and the director of the Pre-K program on how they advocate the treatment of abuse to children. I discovered that in identifying and reporting mistreatment of children is very vital in preventing further or long-term harm. When school officials identify abuse they have a duty to report and follow the procedures and guidelines that are implemented in the school district policies. Georgia law requires schools system faculty, staff and volunteers who have reasonable cause to suspect a child is abused or neglected to report this to the proper authority. The system faculty and staff must understand their obligation to report the suspicion or allegation, yet they are not to investigate or decide the validity of the suspicion or allegation. In fact, it is required by each state that all professionals that work with children are to report any suspicious abuse. www.childwelfare.gov…
Following the correct steps in reporting the claim is also vital and having no personal opinions on the matter, what is needed in cases of abuse is facts, you must never let anything stop you from protecting a child.…
Video presentation: The video clip was quite interesting I found it to be very educational as to the legal obligations of therapists in the mental health field. There were issues that were brought up that were quite important, such as therapists need to understand confidentiality, privileged information, and a therapists responsibility related to reporting suspected child abuse, elder abuse, and/or suicidal ideations, and possibly the most important of them all is a therapists duty to warn. The first case they were focusing on was the case related to a child that was presented in the ER and seen by Nurse Brown and now because she did not report any suspected child abuse she was charged with a crime. The statement that the character Constance Brandis made was quite succinct; Nurse Brown noted “the child was brought in unconscious and undiagnosed or undetermined distress. She notes bruises, she asked foster mother about them, she gets an explanation, and she buys it. Remember, this is a licensed foster care mother. The boy is treated at the hospital, recovers and then goes home” (Psychotherapy, 2008). After this statement the question that this character had was definitely the appropriate question she said “is Nurse Brown a criminal who might be put in jail was she breaking the law should she be punished”(Psychotherapy, 2008).…
