Analysis Of Herd Mentality Of Mark Anthony
This article on herd behavior and herd mentality supported Mark Anthony over the conspirators. This can be concluded by three reason. Those reason is Milgram experiment on the obedience to authority figures, is the plebeians, and the people will follow even if they know it is wrong. Which stats that people will follow higher rule. Since Mark Anthony was definitely much higher in society then the Conspirators he was followed by the plebeians. The second reason is when the only a few plebeians as Mark Anthony spoke “honorably” of Brutus shouted back that they should riot against them. So as an effect of Herd Mentality most of the plebeians by peer pressure were subject into revolting against the conspirators. As the population agreed with

    Mob Mentality Beitler

After reading the mob mentality pieces, I conclude mobs thought it was okay to torture black people whenever they want to. To illustrate, Beitler’s photograph shows, a mob out in the open lynching two black people. Since they are doing the lynchings out in the open, the mob was not afraid of getting caught. Everyone in the picture are in their street clothes, so that could show they were okay with other people seeing they were participating in the lynching. Another idea that supports this conclusion is, in the article How Riots Work, the author points out, “Being part of a group can destroy people’s inhibitions, making them do things they’d never do otherwise ”(Edmonds). That quote shows people think it is okay to do an…

As a tragic hero Brutus possesses a flaw of naivety. Brutus is too trusting in others, such as the conspirators. The conspirators believed that Caesar was too ambitious and that they should kill him for the good of Rome, themselves and for their own personal benefit. Brutus trusted that they were conspiring to kill him for the sake of Rome. (Quote). He was also naïve by letting Antony speak at Caesar’s funeral. Brutus believed that Antony would praise Caesar at his funeral and follow the rules that he was given. Brutus trusted him and by letting him speak Antony turned all the Romans against him. Antony sparked a civil war by convincing the Romans that the conspirators that they did wrong. Since Antony turned all the Romans against him, he…

What part does Brutus play in this? Brutus is a very loyal man, he was just more loyal to Rome. This was his downfall. When Brutus gave his speech he was very choppy and factual. The people believed him and called him the most noble man in Rome, but only for a while. After him was Mark Antony, Antony was persuasive and used more ethos than logos. This helped win the people’s hearts instead of their minds. Cassius, the deceitful leader of the conspirators,…

Mark Antony deftly speaks to his audience in a way that requires them to challenge their preconceived characterizations of Brutus and Cassius. He intentionally expresses the deliberate opposite of what he genuinely wishes and excessively compliments the people to the point that they forget their own seemingly unwavering convictions. His finesse and dexterity in bending words and minds ultimately works to his favor. Antony accomplishes his initial goal to convince the Roman people to revenge Caesar’s demise. This achievement in and of itself exhibits…

Lastly should he have joined. The start of the conspiracy was stated by Cassius. He was the first to actually talk to Brutus about it. Brutus did kinda agree more like feel the same way. When they were shouting for Caesar Brutus said “I fear Caesar has become king” (I,i, 88-89) Which shows that he might be open to a conspiracy and Cassius knows this.…

The citizens don’t have that many lines throughout the play but they had a significant part. Throughout the play, their leaders manipulate them, and the leaders gained their trust, because they thought that their leaders wanted to rule for them not against them. The leaders secretly need their support in deciding rulers to keep them in power. The plebeians decided to believe Antony’s speech, of how Caesar wasn't a tyrant and sacrificed his own life for the citizens and Rome. They cause what the outline of the play is, if Brutus went last, the plebeians would have believed that Caesar deserved to die, there wouldn’t be a battle at Philippi, and the second triumvirate wouldn’t be in control. In conclusion, their leaders needed their help, so their leaders could gain more power over…

Mark Antony used the three persuasion tools to turn the roman crowd against Brutus. The most convincing use of ethos in Antony’s speech is in the first line of the speech; “Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears!” This shows that Mark Antony is trying to get in to the Roman crowd’s hearts. He uses rhetorical irony throughout the speech constantly questioning the ethos of Brutus. “When that the poor cried, Caesar hath wept; ambition should be made of sterner stuff: yet Brutus is an honorable man.” Mark Antony repeats the phrase “yet Brutus is an honorable man” then he says logical statement that proofs Caesar did nothing wrong. Which led the crowd to turn on Brutus, without Antony actually saying that what Brutus did was wrong. Mark Antony uses a lot of facts throughout the course of his speech. One of the key facts in his initial speech is; “When that the poor…

Out of all the conspirators, Brutus was the only one who murdered Caesar with intentions of saving Rome. The other conspirators were jealous of Caesar's success and envious of his glory; they did not have the intentions of saving Rome like Brutus. These intentions eventually cause the death of Brutus, but he is honored by Antony as “..the noblest Roman of them all:/ All the conspirators save only he/ Did that they did in envy of great Caesar;/ He only, in a general honest thought/ And common good to all, made one of them” (V. v. 2754-2758). Brutus’ patriotism led him to murder Caesar, which in turn led to his own death.…

In the book, Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare midway through the book, the conspirators assassinated Julius Caesar because they claimed they were in fear of Caesar's leadership so Brutus started taking over control of Rome. The people were shock at first that Caesar was killed, but when Brutus spoke out to the people, they we're glade and many people respected Brutus at that time. But, after hearing Mark Antony's speech about how Caesar was so respectful to his people to everyone he knew and even to his enemies, he cared about these people and the people of Rome we're even more in shock from hearing what Caesar wanted to do for his good people of Rome. After Antony's speech Brutus was very powerful but had loss total respect after killing Caesar for no "real true" reason. And that is why Brutus is being hunted down by the people of Rome because they want revenge back and Brutus' power of Rome will not last long. In Julius Caesar Act three, scene two; First plebeian reacts to Mark Antony's speech, "We'll burn the house of Brutus." Page 122. Also in the same scene the first plebeian also states, "Never, never. Come, away, away! We'll burn his body in the holy place and with the brands fire the traitors' houses. Take up the body." Page 124…

My understanding of cultural and contextual considerations of T.E.H.O. was deepened through the interactive oral. In the Interactive Oral we discussed the how the town knew about the murder and stayed quiet because of the mob mentality. A student brought up the connection between the mob mentality and the internet today, tying both to safety in numbers. This brought up the idea of how powerful the mafia is having this mob mentality over the majority of the people. Furthering on, the group discussed how the internet and the mafia both create this Mob mentality. One person brought up a video of how boys, not men, were throwing out rape threats to a woman through the internet. This was followed by a discussion on the false confidence and disconnection the internet creates. The internet creates a disconnection between people creating a false confidence that makes people act as if they were alone in the locker room, except it is being displayed to the world. The power of the mafia and the internet are so great it creates this barrier which in to T.E.H.O silences the town and today gives people false confidence to say rude and totally…
