The story ends with a plot twist and a cliffhanger. The reader then has to by themselves imagine how the story ending. This makes the story mysterious and scary, since the reader can imagine the worse possible ending. Throughout the story it is like this, it is not clearly written that certain things happen, rather the reader has to fill in the blanks. This makes the story not only scary, but also more interesting to read. Because there unanswered questions, as a reader you want to keep finding more pieces to the story to try to see the bigger picture even with a few missing pieces.
Although the story does have a few elements taken from the traditional horror stories, for example the old cabin or the mirror, it still has a very new feel to it. This has partly to do with the unanswered questions as well as the unexpected ending. It does not end the traditional way with the protagonist dying, but it has a twist that makes the story much more interesting.
The combination of traditional horror story and a new, interesting idea as well as the cliffhanger ending made the story very enjoyable. The plot was thought out and easy to follow and the text flowed well. Just like any good horror story is supposed to, it did scare me, especially with the cliffhanger at the end. is suitable for a just about anyone who is looking for a short horror story which has a fresh idea without wandering too far away from the traditional horror story, that keeps the reader on the edge of their chair.
