The story follows the protagonist, young Elise Norwood, Elise and her family need to move into an old and creepy cabin because of the family’s economic situation after Elise’s mother Elisabeth lost her job as a school teacher. Shortly after moving into their new home they start experiencing unnatural phenomena happen around the cabin such as objects being moved, doors and windows shutting, and the sound of voices and footsteps everywhere. This makes the story mysterious and scary, since the reader can imagine the worse possible ending.
