makes us ask the question what we would do if we were put in his place. He shows sympathy for the people that there about to murder while the others was just smiling and plotting away.
The movie opens up with all the officials arriving to this house along the lake in Wannsee and once they arrive, they all introduce themselves telling who they are and explaining their credibility.
While reading the record of the actually meeting I had found a lot of euphemism. In the record it referred to the killing of the Jews as an “evacuation” to represent killing and murder but also they would use “the final solution” also when they got tired of saying “evacuation.” In the movie all the government officials knew what they talking about and was very clear. Adolf Eichmann also went on to talk about the different methods of the gassing with numbers on how many people was gassed in the trucks. Eichmann also contradicted himself in his testimony by saying he doesn’t remember some of the
specifics.
Conspiracy showed the different sides of evil and wicked while also individualizing each person at the conference. It was more devastating and precious. Conspiracy was well scripted and had an exceptional ensemble performances. It was an historical brilliance from the Director. Pierson was not trying to manipulate us as viewers, the seriousness of the truth was enough in its own. The way the character played Heydrich showed that he had no sense of morality, sophisticated, and humorous. It was a fascinating and complicated performance by Branagh who played the role well who came across as convincing for the man who displayed to true meaning of evil in Heydrich. I believe that this movie wouldn’t have succeeded with known actors but it was blessed with unknown famous faces. The movie had a very chilled feeling to it because of how it was set.
The setting of this movie is that it was all film in one room as a board meeting. The purpose that Pierson did this was he wanted us to feel how it was like to be in that meeting. He wanted us to see the purpose of killing the Jews and why. The director wanted us to be a part of this meeting so we know what was said. He also showed headshots of the characters so that we could see their facial expressions during this meeting.
