Vendetta ́ did not have the same expectations and didn’t have as many viewers as ́The Avengers ́.
In both film they have heroes, ́The Avengers ́ have stereotypical Action Adventure heroes whereas ́V for Vendetta ́ have more of a realistic hero, even though V is an anti-hero. ́The Avengers ́
Black Widow is represented as a humorous, independent, strong and a skilful female character, this means she is not the damsel in distress. She’s very flirtatious and slightly sexualised during this scene. She uses her beauty and manipulative skills into seducing the villain and his henchmen into revealing the information she needs. Whilst strapped to a chair in an abandoned warehouse in the first scene she’s in, the villains circle her to belittle her and makes her appear as if she was the damsel in distress. As the villains are interrogating her, the lighting and the camera is mostly focused on her upper body, from the chest and up. When fighting there is a lot of mid-shots and longs shots showing off Black Widows body shape. Even though she was outnumbered by the villain and his henchmen, Black Widow defeats them all with ease. The audience enjoy’s this because she a female character how dose not have superpower but she is skilled and capable of defending herself. They also admire that she is not over sexualised but still independent. The target audience would be the psychographic group of “explorers” as they would be drawn to the challenge that Black Widow face and to discover a new “world” of film. Black Widow is a counter- type of the generic woman’s costume in the action-adventure genre. Black Widows costume seems to be made of an elastic material so that she can be able to do her stunts. It fits her perfectly and covers up her chest in the action sequence, as this is very unexpected for a female superhero. The traditional superhero’s focus more on the costumes then on the hero, for this attracts the male audience because of the sexualisation. However more and more of the audience has become female due to the female characters gaining independence within their roles. Throughout the film, the audience gets to know the character. The audience gets to know more and more about her relationships with the Hulk and Hawkeye. She dose not change a lot throughout the film, but you get to know her better and she get more emotional.
Tony Stark also known as Iron Man in `The Avengers ́ is represented as a “self obsessed, charming, rich genius”, and he keeps that character throughout the film. This is shown shown in the scene when he is flies back to his company skyscraper, there on the side of the building, in large, bright letters with his name and he say’s “it’s like Christmas with a little more me”. The character is physically weak compared with the other hero’s, The Hulk, Captain America and Thor, this means that he heavily relies on his intellect and ability to build his armoured suits. Starks character is constantly insulting his enemies and teammates and make jokes even in the darkest of situations. This adds sacrum and humour to his character. He’s constant drive for improvements in technology leads him to developing new gadgets to defeat his enemies. Again you see his playboy character reflecting in the use of the gold and the red armour that represents his wealth.

 ́V for Vendetta ́
In the first half of the beginning, Evey is fearful. When faced with any sign of violence, she always hides beneath something, whether it be a bed or a table. Hiding under objects is a subconscious reaction to feeling threatened and wanting to be protected. This is Evey’s characteristic because of her unorthodox childhood. This is stereotypical for the action adventure genre, most protagonists generally have heartbreaking backstories. As for her heartbreaking backstory, Evey is represented as the damsel in destress in the first scene when she is on her way to Gordon Deitrich. Evey Hammond goes out late that night for a date of sorts and runs into trouble, the Fingerman, a member of Norsefire's secret police, working on a vice squad sting operation. As the man is about to rape her, she is saved by a mysterious man in a Guy Fawkes mask and black cloak, calling himself “V”. This is the first time she meets V. After the insurgent V then invites Evey to join him for a show. From a rooftop they watch the Old Bailey building explode while V “conducts” an orchestra played through loudspeakers along the streets of London. In this part of the film she very shy but in some way extremely brave to flow V. Compared to Black Widow, Evey is not as strong and independent as Black Widow in the beginning.
In the later half, Evey representation begins to develop into a strong person after facing hardship and finding the inspiring autobiography of a previous prisoner. In the prison she got toughened, one example of this was when her head was forcefully held under water. Her captor proceeds to pull her up and commands her to “Just tell us where he is”, but she would firmly replies with “I don’t know”. After a long time of being toughened she was told ‘If you don't tell us where he is you will be killed’. She didn't tell on him and released her from captivity, a new Evey stands in the rain on the roof. “God is in the rain”, she says while looking up at the heavens. Cross-cutting of both Evey and V’s rebirths follow, with the obvious difference of Evey rising from soothing rain while V rises from the fire.
In the first half of the film the protagonist, unconventional hero, V, is being represented as an intelligent man and a lone wolf.
He is extremely intelligent, and uses a high class of vocabulary. He was a victim of illegal genetic testing by the government in an effort to further their knowledge about the human torture. He is to bring justice to his country and bring down the government. V murdered these individuals that did the illegal investigation as a payback for the suffering they have caused him and hundreds of other people. Despite V acting as a “Terrorist” he is presented in a way to the audience so that they converge with him and support him because of his backstory. Opposing to this, the government becomes the “evil” antagonists in this film. They are the ones killing innocent people and then they cover it all up in the media. After meeting Evey, develops feelings for her and starts caring more for her than himself. Evey beings out a sentimental side of V but he will still bring justice and fight against the government. Throughout the film V protects Evey from the society and the corruption. He must protect her from the corrupt society as she is in danger from being tortured by. So he is now a different individual than from the start of the film, thanks to Evey he now has a reason, to kill in Evey’s defence. As i mentioned before he captivated Evey and torched, this was the most terrible thing he has done in his mind. He did this for Evey, to make her stop feeling pain. Under that period of time Evey was alway’s asked to telson him but she never did, so he fully trussed her. On 5th November he showed her his plan, how he would blow up the Parliament. He takes Evey down to the underground. In the last scene after the final battle agents the antagonist Peter Creedy. After defeating Peter Creedy and his henchmen. He rushed back to Evey shot and surely injured, where he later dies in Evey's arms. Evey then puts him in the underground train, surrounded by
violet carson roses. Then she sent the train away to the Parliament, where it later explodes and destroys the Parliament.
Near the end of ́V for Vendetta ́, while the building is exploding, you see people pulling off their masks to watch it explode. During this scene you see some characters that have been previously said to be dead.
My conclusion is that these 4 characters are a mixture of different stereotypes in the Action- Adventure genre. The character Black Widow is less sexualised in the film then in the original comic character. While keeping the intricate of the male audience, her independent and stretch allows the female audience to relate to her as more than a sexual object.
Even though Tony Stark is protrude as a self-centred billionaire, thought his uses his humour and his sarcasm to win the audience over.
V as well as Evey are the result of consequences from the "bad" evil and have to go through a journey in which both in the long run have to sacrifice something in order for the "good" to happen. Through this journey, both V and Evey had to committed to acts in which may originally be related with evil however, are ultimately acted upon for the greater good.
