Many claim that they have no break-in period and are quite comfortable right out of the box. This is a big plus for those who need hiking shoes for immediate wear.

The waterproofing of the boots is highly appreciated as well. They stand up to everything from rain and snow to shallow creeks without the waterproof membrane failing their wearer, which is a considerable feat.

In addition they have excellent traction that is suitable for winter weather, including icy and slippery conditions. They grip the walking surface well, even in adverse conditions where wearers have previously experienced failure with other boots.
