Analyzing Erikson's Level Of Psychosocial Theory

Erikson’s Level of Psychosocial Theory is used to describe human behavioral development among different age groups. I interviewed my mother to determine the ideal development process from adolescents to late adulthood. Each response shows the significant difference between adolescents and late adulthood. The first question asked was “What do you think about a couple living together before marriage?” My mother’s response was “A couple should only live together if they are married.” I disagree with my mother’s response. My response was “It is completely normal for a couple to live together before marriage. I believe it’s better because that way you get to see what marriage would be like before the actual commitment.” The two responses show
My mother’s response was “A couple should not get a divorce if the couple knew they were not ready for commitment they shouldn’t have married.” Whereas my response was “Divorce is normal now-a-days, most people decide later in life that marriage didn’t work out.” The following question asked was “Do you think adolescents are under more stress than before?” Luckily both responses were the same. My mother’s response was “adolescents stress more than before because society has high ridiculous standards.” My response was “adolescents are under more stress because there’s so much pressure because of social media.” The 7th question asked was “do adolescents respect their elders?” Both responses were similar, my response was “No adolescents don’t respect their elders because they don’t think they are important.” My mother’s response was “No because adolescents don’t realize that one day they will be old too.”
The next question asked was “Do you think technology is helpful?” My answer was “Yes technology is helpful because it has made life easier.” Whereas, my mother’s answer was “No technology has made people lose the importance of life.” Both responses differ because of Erikson’s stages of
“whereas my mother disagrees her response was “No kids have time for everyone and everything excepts their parents.” Once again, the answers differ because the great difference in generations and development. The following question asked was “How does your childhood differ from todays childhood?” My answer was “Growing up I spent a lot of time playing outside whereas my nephews and nieces only play on their tablets.” My mother’s response was “growing up I had to do a lot of work around the house whereas my kids don’t.” The last question asked was “should parents monitor their child’s social media?” in my opinion I answered, “No parents shouldn’t monitor their social media because parents should trust their kids and not invade their privacy.” My mother’s response was “Yes parents need to monitor their child’s social media because they might upload something
