Analyzing The Whitman's Presbyterian Mission
The Whitman Mission was a Presbyterian mission focused on converting The Cayuse tribe at

Walla Walla, The mission consisted of Dr. Marcus Whitman, his wife Narcissa Whitman and a few

others. The Whitmans had many disagreements with the Cayuse and things took a turn for the worst.

The Cayuse killed Marcus and his wife and took many men ,women ,and children hostage. This lead

to a series of conflicts between natives and white settlers.

The main reason why the conflict started was that both peoples thought they were superior then the

other. The white settlers thought the Cayuse were a savage people and came so that they could turn

them into civilised Christians and the Cayuse thought the white settlers were their to wipe them out
