Although people of the 18th century utilized design concepts within the buildings they introduced new concepts of architecture, such as the spiral column, predominantly the Solomonic helical columns that were profoundly adapted from emblematic Greek style columns, for instance the Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian styles. Adaptations in sculptures and paintings varied greatly as well, New styles were based on a Christian premise, illustrating angels, Christ himself, and a host of biblical stories compared to the Greek and Roman illustrations of Greek mythology. Additionally the artists of the 18th century often created art around common people and sometimes even people of the lower classes. This was not allowed during the times of classical Greek and Roman artistry as learned by the sculptor Pheidias (BBC, 2016).
In conclusion, art whether it was borrowed, inspired by the past, or a completely new design is beautiful. The world has been able to admire the many classic pieces as well as the new styles introduced over the years. In everything there is art so in everything there is beauty.
