Just before 4:00 a.m., the monitor, which showed the baby’s heartbeat, became dead silent. The nurse moved a few things and then got the doctor. The doctor quickly came in and …show more content…
placed me flat on my back. He flipped the baby and told me to lie on my left side. All the fluid was now gone and the baby had cut off his oxygen by lying on the umbilical cord. It was quick and scary, but as quickly as it happened it was over.
Finally, I was ready to deliver.
I pushed for three hours. It was long and hard which is not uncommon for most first babies. At the very end, I told the doctor, "I quit! Please, just take the baby." Calmly, he responded, "You cannot quit. You have gone too far now - push!"
Within minutes, Micah James was born. I had delivered him naturally, so once again God had faithfully answered my prayers. Micah weighed eight pounds and fifteen ounces. He was four weeks early, but perfectly healthy! I was excited and exhausted. Kevin went home to sleep, and I rested between visitors. Kevin came back late in the afternoon. He had a grin on his face. I inquired about his expression. Kevin replied: “I have a job!”
The new business where he had applied in December called and gave him a position over the phone. He would start work on Monday. I was amazed. I knew it was God. The timing was perfect! This job was obviously hand picked for Kevin. My prayers were answered and Kevin had a job not before the baby was born, but on the very day he was born. God is always on
time!
My pregnancy taught me to trust God. He had been so faithful to every request. He caused my body to perform, and He gave Kevin a job at the exact moment in time we needed one. I had learned endurance and reward. I had also caught the concept concerning “desires of our hearts.” Simply stated as you seek God with all your heart, His desires become your desires. Therefore, the Bible is the truth. Due to your personal submission to a Holy God, you do get the ultimate desires of your heart by going the way God directs you. God did not give us what we asked for. He gave us what we needed. You see, He was the only One who knew our future! God was walking with me daily and training me for the future ahead.
