We will name the teacher Mary for the purpose of this critique as Aistear does not state the name of the presenter. Mary looks at pedagogical framing which she states lays the foundations for play. She calls it behind the scene work. According to Mary it includes the provision of resources, arrangement of space, and the establishment of daily routines, thematic planning and assessment. Mary communicates her message across in an orderly and mannerly tone. She is easy to listen to and reminds me of a teacher that I had many years ago wise and well experienced. I would be confident to implement her suggestions just by the tone of her…

With the use of examples from personal as well as her friends’ and family’s experiences, her argument is considered more credible and trustworthy. In paragraph 30, Prose describes her experience being taught how to deeply analyze the meaning of a Shakespeare play, and how she loved it after being able to deeply understand it. This gives the audience a different perspective, one of a student who received the education Prose argues for. This consequently supports her proposal that the reason english class has become such a useless chore to students is as a result of the straightforward and fruitless examinations of literature. Along with the narration of her and her friend’s children’s experiences, found in paragraphs 5 and 23, the audience may relate to the description of a poorly taught english class that uses unoriginal reading choices or cursory lesson plans, which in turn inspires them to invoke change in the education…

This essay tries to show that students are not alone. Whenever they are frustrated, there are teachers to help them. Maybe, this might be true, but I think about how many students really depend on teachers when they feel frustrated. I don’t want to be negative, but, though teachers are always sitting in their office, there are just a few students who look for them to talk about something. This is the reality, so I feel like this story is just about a utopia that we have ever dreamed. For me, teachers are still on a top of line and they are the people who I can’t approach easily because of their status. This is the reason that I was mad a little bit because the reality that I live is not in the same situation like the story.…

    Way Back Home

One of the big dramatic moments of Way Back Home has one of the main characters yelling at her sister for having the gall to wash her hedgehog plushie. She freaks out to an extent that just doesn’t seem comprehensible anymore. And that’s largely the problem with this film. The writing goes overboard in trying to depict the conflict between the sisters, and in the process, loses touch with the truth at the core of the story. When all is said and done, the film wants the audience to be happy for both characters in the end, but one of them just doesn’t seem to deserve it.…
