The pain follows a pattern, which means that the chest pains are brought on by strenuous activity or after a big meal. The pain that comes with stable angina usually lasts for only a few minutes. The next type of angina is unstable angina. Unstable angina is usually a sign of a heart attack so the pain occurs more often and is more severe than stable angina. Unstable angina also doesn’t follow a pattern which means that it happens randomly.
The next last two and most severe forms of angina are variant and microvascular. The variant form of angina is very rare and is caused by the heart muscle spasming. The pain from this form only occurs during times of rest, which means most patients will experience pain at night while trying to sleep. The last type of angina is microvascular angina it is due to the damage of the smallest vessels in the heart. My papa has had three heart surgery’s where CABG was conducted. He can’t use anymore arteries in his legs but he can have one more surgery and if he goes through with it the doctors will have to use the arteries in his arms. He has also had multiple stents put in, so much so that he cannot get any more put in.
Prevention for this disease is much like what you would do for the treatment. No I don’t mean the medication and surgeries. What I mean is that much like you would change your life style to try and help your disease using that same life style change will also help prevent angina from happening. Some of the life style changes that you can make are: Quit smoking, controlling other heath conditions, eating healthy, exercise, maintain healthy weight, reduce stress.
Diseases will continue to plague mankind in the future. But research and study are continuously finding treatments and cures for many of the diseases that were previously considered fatal. Hopefully one day we will be able to truly cure all problems that cause chest pain. And hopefully one day the problems that cause chest pain will be a forgotten evil, just like polio and the mumps. But then again only time will tell what the future
