This project took months and months of planning for a mere seven minutes. I sorted through hours of video and countless charts and scientific articles to support my ideas on animal cruelty. My talk had several purposes. The first reason was to make people ask themselves why abusers abandon basic principles of compassion and empathy for animals. The second was to make them question their complacency. The third purpose was to call them to action and to not just sit by and let it happen but to do something about it. I feel that my talk was able to accomplish everything I was hoping for. These things are what I set out to learn from the very beginning and I feel like I was able to share all of it and back it up with personal anecdote and scientific research.

First, just choosing a topic was mindbending. I changed my idea five or six times, with each idea coming with his own set of research and sources, before I chose one. I love the creative freedom it gave us but it was just so hard because there were so many things that I considered to be interesting topics. Second, I didn't like how inexperienced we all were at public speaking. The senior talk is the first time we've had to do anything like this. I just wish that we had started off smaller so we could come up with our own tricks and methods to creating a smooth presentation. It's like a skill set all on its
