Analyzing Jeremy Rifkin's Article 'A Change Of Heart About Animals'
Letter to the Editor Jeremy Rifkin 's article, “A Change of Heart About Animals” argues that animals are more like humans than we imagine and as a result should be treated with the care that they deserve. Rifkin develops and supports his argument using facts about the animals and these facts end up touching hearts. In order for Rifkin to get his point across he uses a smart technique by using pathos and plays with the emotions of his audience. Rifkin loves animals and his passion and love evokes emotions that the audience can feel. Animals can feel and have emotions similar to ours. in agreement with Rifkin, I argue that it is wrong and inhumane to kill or abuse animals because they feel, they deserve to have space and should be valued as much as humans are It is wrong no animal should be killed due to abuse or testing, it is wrong and inhumane. In the latest news on animal cruelty, Sea World received publicity that …show more content…

India has banned the import of animal tested cosmetics the ban comes in the form of Rule 135-B that states, "Prohibition of import of cosmetics tested on animals. - No cosmetic that has been tested on animals after the commencement of Drugs and Cosmetics (Fifth Amendment) Rules, 2014 shall be imported into the country"(India). I don 't believe that people would want to be used for testing new products to see what type of allergies or adverse effects these new products could cause, nor would they want their family members to be tested against their will. So why is it okay for animals to be tested on? I feel animals should have rights too and do not deserve to be treated bad. One commercial I cannot watch is the one about dogs and animals in the pound that were saved. First of all the commercial starts with music that reaches my emotions and it makes me think of ways to help prevent the import of these

A Trunk Full of Empathy Throughout the years the generation among us has become less selfless. We worry less about those around us and worry more about what we’re going to consume for dinner or how many likes a picture of yourself will get.. In Jeremy Rifkin’s article, (published by Los angeles Times) “A Change of Heart about Animals”, he describes that animals are more like us humans than we think and that our empathy needs to constantly become stronger towards animals. Rifkin gives us a plethora of rhetorical ways to persuade readers to feel more towards animals. One strategy Rifkin utilizes is to note how other countries, universities and groups have already begun to discuss the right to animals.…

“A Change of Heart about Animals” by Jeremy Rifkin. This article talks about how animals are so much like us. Jeremy Rifkin asserted in his September fifth letter announcing that creatures were equipped for each feeling an individual was, and requesting that all individuals augment a feeling of balance and compassion to living creatures equivalent to that they would give an alternate person. This is clearly preposterous and, in the event that you truly make a stride back and take a gander at the procedure behind the thought, unexpected.…

After reading the article A Change of Heart about Animals by Jeremy Rifkin . I conclude that Rifkin is really interested in the way animals feel and the research that proves animals are just like humans . He is persuading us to think that animals are just like us by giving lots of examples of animals having emotions just like humans do. There is also lots of science that leads me to believe animals are just like us. Like the studies researchers have done on pigs, they need attention to stay happy because keeping them isolated or alone will make the pig feel depressed.I feel like animals should have their own rights because they are very intelligent and some, like Koko the gorilla, can communicate with humans. Betty and Abel the…

Jeremy Rifkin expresses his knowledge on how animals are compared to humans in his article “A change of heart about animals.” Rifkin argues that science has shown that the differences between animals and humans are less than we think. I agree that animals are very similar if not close to being on the same level as humans. Most people would assume that animals are very different from us; this could be due to the inabilities we think we have to communicate with animals.…

After reading “A Change of Heart about Animals”, Jeremy Rifkins argues that animals should be treated in a more humane way. I agree with Rifkins argument because I have seen animals get abuse and it should not be like that. People may say that they do not feel anything but THEY DO! It’s similar to when a humane it getting abused. Many researchers are finding that the animals are similar to us in many ways: they feel pain, suffer, and experience stress, affection, excitement, and even love. Rifkins give scientific evidence to support his argument from credible source and make his stronger.…

Jeremy Rifkin is an American writer, public speaker, and activist who wrote a meaningfully dense article for the Los Angeles Times titled "A Change Of Heart About Animals." His article defends animal rights and disputes many myths regarding animals. Rifkin argues that animals do have a sense of individualism, they experience emotions, they learn from past experiences, and that “They are more like us than we imagined” (). After reading the article, I can personally say that I agree with Rifkin, albeit my only problem is drawing the line between advocating for animals rights and extremism.…

Did you know that more than 50% of the fur in the United States comes from China, where there are no penalties for abusing animals, which are raised in unbearably cramped and run-down cages on fur farms? Animals should have a Bill of Rights because they have emotions, feel pain, and are being forced into painful experiments.…

In “A Change of Heart about Animals,” Jeremy Rifkin alludes to scientific research to argue that animals have many more human characteristics than previously believed and that they should be treated like humans. He even goes as far to argue that animals should be given toys to comfort them. I disagree with the majority of Rifkin’s beliefs. While I do believe animal abuse like dog fighting is wrong, I disagree with the idea that pigs, who are about to be killed, should be given toys. Spending money on toys for animals meant for slaughter is a waste of resources.…

Your newspaper published an editorial “A Change of Heart about Animals” September 1, 2003 by Jeremy Rifkin, author and president of the Foundation on Economic Trends, in which Rifkin suggests that the center of the human experience is about extending concern to wider and wider realms to the species we share the world with (34). He implies throughout the article that animals like us, feel pain, experience stress, affection, excitement, and even love (33) . He claims that animals should be treated better because they experience similar emotions we do. Animal testing on cosmetics should be banned. People are put in jail all the time for abusing their pets, but people are never put in jail for inhumane testing of cosmetics and other pharmaceuticals on these same animals. I have done a lot of research on animal testing and methods we can use that are more effective and don’t use animals through high school in my free time because of curiosity, so I know a lot of random facts about the harmful nature of this and alternative methods. Animals are being tortured to “help” make better medicine and, the majority of the time does not affect people the same way as animals. Animal testing is inhumane and ineffective the majority of the time, it should be banned.…
