Animal Farm: Dictatorship In Soviet Russia

When I read Animal Farm, I realized that it’s not the type of book that I would typically read although I do like historical novels. Animal Farm portrays dictatorship in Soviet Russia. In that way, Animal Farm is a great learning resource. I would have preferred it if the novel’s characters were human beings instead of animals. Also, I found it a bit challenging for me to read old English and having to stop and look for words meanings. Additionally, I thought that the writing style of Animal Farm wasn’t very engaging to read, I didn’t feel hooked to the book while reading. I feel that Animal Farm wasn’t a very satisfying book to read.

Analysing Boxer’s Character, Boxer symbolized the working men in Soviet Russia. He did most of the work
on Animal Farm, he never took rests, he woke an hour earlier than all other animals on the farm, he had the most dangerous and hardest jobs, but he’d always say his two mottos: “ Napoleon is always right” and “ I will work harder”. Most of the animals on the farm had always urged him to work less, but he’d always work harder. In the start of the novel Boxer was just a secondary character, although still worked harder than all the other animals even in Jones’s times.
With the development of the farm, he became the Farm’s main worker, he harvested the most, he carried the most, worked longer ,carried all the stones up and down the windmill during construction. Although he did most of the work the pigs never appreciated him they just used him without respect. After his fall from the windmill, he realized that he was being used, he had decided to work less, and be the first animal on Animal Farm to retire on his twelfth birthday. Unfortunately, the pigs had brought him to his death. The pigs have said that they were sending Boxer to the hospital, but it turned out that the pigs were lying and poor Boxer was sent to the knacker. The pigs never admitted it, they had said that Boxer had died in the hospital. Some animals believed the pigs and some didn’t, but Benjamin and Clover were certain that miserable Boxer had died at the knacker’s. Boxer is a very admirable and significant character in the book, because he had the heart of the other animals, and even the pigs and their arrogance had been supported by the foolishness of Boxer. Additionally, he was the main worker on the farm, he was a
true hard worker. Boxer was the loyal, faithful, dedicated kind hard worker. In my opinion, he was the most admirable character in the novel. I believe that if Boxer had lived, he might have had the chance to save Animal Farm from Napoleon’s tyranny. Boxer, which is the character that interprets the working men in Soviet Russia, could have started a rebellion of his own and he could have got the other animals on his side, with Benjamin and Clover in particular on his side against the pigs. He would have perhaps also tried killing Napoleon on the point of that he was very strong and he had killed a few men in a previous battle by accident.
