As most know from reading her diary in middle school or studying her life in history class, Anne Frank was a young, Jewish girl during the 1930 's and 40 's. Her family and another hid in a "Secret Annexe" of her father 's office building to avoid persecution from the Nazi 's occupying Holland. Anne was forced to leave basically everything she knew. Her life became incredibly uncertain, but she chose to overlook all the hardships in her way and see the world with optimism. Anne wrote, “It 's really a wonder that I haven 't dropped all my ideals, because they seem so absurd and impossible to carry out. Yet I keep them, because in spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart.” Yes, that 's a real quote. She actually said that. I feel like that should almost speak for itself about what kind of person this girl was, but just to add some perspective, the thirteen year-old girl with a nation out to get her really said she believes that there is still good in people. I firmly believe that if someone who is facing Nazi persecution can be so unimaginably selfless, we can look past someone with opinions different from our own.
As our lives change and we grow older, we are forced to make choices, whether we want to or not. This year I have time and time again been asked things like, What do I want to do after graduation? Where am I
