Anne Frank Speech
As my final year of high school progresses, I am faced with countless decisions on a daily basis, and as much as I wish it could, no amount of money or procrastination can make these decisions for me. Although it has taken me thirteen years of school to truly make this realization, the guidance from a role model is absolutely crucial. Whether it be Gandhi or your mother, chances are aspects of the lives of someone you admire can be applied to your own life for your benefit. When I am feeling unsure and having doubts about the whole process, no one inspires me to continue on more than, my role model, Anne Frank.
As most know from reading her diary in middle school or studying her life in history class, Anne Frank was a young, Jewish girl during the 1930 's and 40 's. Her family and another hid in a "Secret Annexe" of her father 's office building to avoid persecution from the Nazi 's occupying Holland. Anne was forced to leave basically everything she knew. Her life became incredibly uncertain, but she chose to overlook all the hardships in her way and see the world with optimism. Anne wrote, “It 's really a wonder that I haven 't dropped all my ideals, because they seem so absurd and impossible to carry out. Yet I keep them, because in spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart.” Yes, that 's a real quote. She actually said that. I feel like that should almost speak for itself about what kind of person this girl was, but just to add some perspective, the thirteen year-old girl with a nation out to get her really said she believes that there is still good in people. I firmly believe that if someone who is facing Nazi persecution can be so unimaginably selfless, we can look past someone with opinions different from our own.
As our lives change and we grow older, we are forced to make choices, whether we want to or not. This year I have time and time again been asked things like, What do I want to do after graduation? Where am I

Anne Frank is someone who influenced history long after she was gone, because of her courage, bravery, and willpower that got here and her family through the tough times up until they were seized. Though Anne died at age fifteen in one of the camps, we still see her today as such an accepting human being throughout her life. In one of her very last entries Anne stated, “In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart.” This entry proves her beliefs beyond measure that all humans are good people and mean for the best in their own lives. This statement alone expresses everything people need to know about Anne and who she was as a person this shows a maturity level way beyond her years as a young girl of only thirteen…

    | Anne says this in frustration after Mrs. Van Daan yells at her for spilling milk on her coat. This expresses another Anne because it suggests that Anne sees herself changing, that she envisions a different self. I feel that Anne says this because to her, everybody in the Annex shows more favoritism to Margot then her, especially her mother. On the outside it seems Anne can’t always control her temper, as she strives to be more like Margot, who is patient and calm. On the inside, she is jealous of Margot, wanting to have more of an attitude like hers, and convey a better personality to others, contrary to what she’s done. Also Anne is younger, so it is understandable that she'd look up to an older sibling. I can relate to this because many times in our family, I feel as if my parents favor my older sibling over me. I have the same feelings as expressed in this quote, as it is hard to be more mature than somebody older. This quotation suggests change in Anne, as she herself wants to change, and be more socially civil rather than her normal self. Though it conveys negativity on Anne’s character, as she is losing her temper, it also shows maturity, as she is maturing. This quote shows that she is maturing because she now realizes her impact on others, and wants to be more like Margot, who is quite a role model to her. Some questions that occurred were: * Will Anne keep maturing as she is already? *…

Dolores Huerta was born on April 10, 1930, she is a labor leader and civil rights activist who, along with Cesar Chavez, co-founded the national Farmworkers association, which later became the United Farm Workers (UFW). Huerta has received numerous awards for her community service and advocacy for workers, immigrants, and women’s rights. She is truly a leader, working tirelessly to help the poor and women and children. She talks about war, genocide, Mass incarceration, and poverty. During her participation in non-violent protest she was arrested 22 times trying to make changes in society. Her main question was what can we do as people to solve things in the world? Putting political issues on politicians. She talks about how change comes from the bottom, people have to be responsible because at the end of the day no one is going to make changes for us we as people have to make them for ourselves.…

Surrounded by evil and death she still did something she loved, writing. The Nazis took away possessions, separated families, but could not take away her love. The people in our present world can learn from the Holocaust by seeing and understanding its parallel similarities to Islamic aggression against Christians. It occurs around the world but especially in the Middle East. Thousands of Christians die each year in the name of radical Islamic morals much like the Nazis. My life can be related to the experience of Anne Frank by showing me that if I am passionate about something deep in my heart it can’t be taken away by anyone or…

Sojourner Truth was an outstanding lady that fought for equality for all Americans, especially blacks and women. She was born a slave in the year of 1797 (“National Women’s History Museum”). She spent the earliest parts of her life on an estate in New York, owned by Colonnel Johannes Hardenbergh (“Sojourner Truth”). There were a series of laws passed in the state of New York including the Gradual Emancipation and the New York Anti-Slavery Law of 1827 (“Museum Open”). Sojourner’s master did not want to free her, so in turn she ran away. During this time is when she changed her name and began to speak out for the rights she felt she was entitled to. One of her most famous speeches occurred during the Women’s Rights Convention which was held in Akron, Ohio in 1851. This iconic speech later became known as, “Ain’t I A Woman.”…

Anne Frank once said, "In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart." This quote was written right before the Annex was found by the Nazis. I feel this expresses three of Anne's personality traits. It indicates how honest, humble, and brave she is. Even when her whole world is crumbling and she has every right to be angry at the unfairness of her situation, she still chooses to believe that people are good. Anne Frank, a Jewish girl alive during World War II, believed the Nazis looking for her and her family, were good people deep down. Anne was a Jew, hiding in an attic from age thirteen to fifteen years old. She wrote every day for two years in her diary named Kitty. She, her family, and another Jewish family were all hiding from the Nazis because Germany had ordered the extermination of all Jews in 1939. This became known as the Holocaust. The Holocaust was a genocide, where about six million Jewish people were…

She has learned that through hard times she can still find the happiness in life and can focus on them. Anne did not just make it through challenging times, she thrived through challenging times. We all should notice that no matter what was going on, Anne was seeing the joy and good in not only life, but in people as well. She showed us who she really was through this life changing experience. Anne demonstrates that we should keep our head held high when we face the struggles of life. If Anne Frank can see the good in things while being persecuted, I know I can. I have learned from the Holocaust that no matter who you are, what you look like, your race, religion, or anything you can think of, we are equal. Now you are probably thinking, “shouldn’t she already know that?” The Holocaust has helped me to see it in a different way. It also showed me how cruel and selfish humans can be and how cruel and selfish I can be. A lesson all humans should know is that we are one. We are equal. Anne once said, “‘I don’t think of all the misery, but the beauty that still remains,’”…
