Functional instability defines a state in which the ankle have like a pulling sensation and has the propensity of recurring ankle sparins.29,31,32,33 Functional instability in the extreme common remaining symptom following ankle sprains and frequently appears to occur in 17 to 58 percent of the patient.33 This lesion seems to be more commonest in the younger patients.34 Many explanations have been proposed like peroneal muscle weakness , mechanical instability and proprioceptor injury.32,33,35 Rehabilitation with wobble boards in patients with functional instability of ankle have been verified and found to produced major progress compared with no training.33
