Truthfully, the economy as well as the numbers of jobs we hold in America would go even further down the drain. Although the gun business is not the most major part of our economy, it stills does numbers. According to Ben Popken (2015) guns are a multi-billion dollar industry with $13.5 billion annual revenue in manufacturing, along with a $1.5 billion dollar profit. There is also $3.1 billion annual revenue in gun and ammunition stores, with a $478.4 million profit and an estimated overall economic impact of $42.9 billion. Now if we allow the suing of gun business based on crime these numbers would plummet as well as job opportunity in not only the gun industry but numerous other industries. Speaking honestly with the principals and morals of America in mind, if we are allowed to sue people in the gun industry based on something they cannot control such as gun violence, then we can sue any industry that has the potential to be dangerous and contribute to the crime in America. I can sue Johnson & Johnson because I swallowed some shampoo and now am in danger. Even though Johnson & Johnson's product was effective and could work correctly if it was used correctly, it wasn’t and was utilized incorrectly by myself and therefore it is now a danger and I have the right to sue. With this mentality people would be sued left and right and businesses would begin to lose money, and when businesses lose money we all lose money as a whole because these businesses pay taxes to the government to keep their business going but if they cannot provide money, they get shut down ultimately leading to America falling down another deep depression.
