Society has set rules on what is right and wrong. Helping people is right but murder is wrong. Anti-heroes blur the line between these moral boundaries as they know that murder can be to the benefit of many. This change in moral code is made by Lear, Tyler Durden, and Frank Castle. Each of these characters are not afraid to commit crimes and murder people if they believe it to be the only course of action to stop social disorder and help masses of people. Anti-heroes often help the people that suffer from the same pain they have endured. Lear, who is betrayed and cast out, looks out for people who suffer from social injustice, Tyler, who is subject to half of his personality trapped in consumerism, tries to free the world from the traps of marketing and governments, and Frank, who sees his family murdered as bystanders in a local gang dispute, fights to get rid of gangs in his city. This shows that when people endured terrible hardships they do not want other people to undergo the same pain so they fight to eradicate the source of their pain. Because these characters have gone through the pain themselves their resolve for success in their mission is higher than that of a traditional hero. This heightened resolve pushes these anti-heroes to do whatever is necessary to complete their sense of justice. This means no code of conduct is going to stop them from completing their tasks and no moral barriers are in the way of their
