Through the middle of the play King Claudius already believes that “There’s something in his soul/ O’er which his melancholy sits on brood,/ And I do doubt the hatch and the disclose/ Will be some danger…” (III.i.178-181). Claudius knows Hamlet became crazy because of his depression and that the prince will be of some danger. Hamlet had suffered depressions. His melancholy state from loosing his father and his mother to his uncle started his insanity even though he was planning to be crazy he could have started to feel that way in the
