Apollo and Aphrodite created relationships that were based off of a false identity. Even though it is not morally ethical to lie, these outcomes seem to be positive for both Apollo and Aphrodite. They received what they wanted, no matter what the consequence or loss would be to the mortals. The Gods don’t have negative outcomes, but there are plenty of potential bad outcomes for the mortals. The passing-by sailors are taken away from their livelihoods and forced to work on Apollo’s sanctuary, while Anchises runs the possibility of being hated by the almighties Gods, since he, a mortal, slept with a Goddess. Even though there are these possible negative outcomes, it does not seem to matter to the Gods, since their only objective is to accomplish their own goals.
The different tactics used by both Apollo and Aphrodite are unique to their own divine powers. Using what they have to their advantage makes sure that they can accomplish their goals.
