Apostle Paul and the Good News
Introduction
Dr. Elmer Towns and his co-author Ben Gutierrez in their book “In Essence of the New Testament: A Survey” supports the idea and the importance of all Christians grasping the knowledge put forth in the book of Romans. Biblical educators such as Samuel Coleridge and Martin Luther holds Paul’s epistle to the Romans in high esteem (Towns & Gutierrez, 2012). They refer to as “the most profound work in existence and “the purest gospel (Towns & Gutierrez, 2012). These claims are evident when reading Paul’s epistles in the book of Romans, one can feel Jesus Christ’s inspiration in his words and message. In Romans 1:6 -7 when Paul writes “(6) This also includes you who are in Rome, whom God has called to belong to Jesus Christ. (7) And so I write to all of you in Rome Whom God loves and has called to be his own people: May God Our Father and the lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.” Modern day Christians can heed this calling from Paul’s words today. Here Paul is saying come and meet Him for he has called you. It is his call to Christians everywhere to align yourselves with the Son of God; for he has chosen you because of the love you have for God the Father. This is a “cry” that still rings true to modern time believers in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Romans for the modern day believers brings one back to Christ. Sometimes life causes people to lose their way. The Book of Romans is a must “read” and understanding for all Christians. Towns & Gutierrez

teaches understanding and application of Romans is crucial for all Christian theology because “the greatest revivals and reformations throughout the history of Christianity have resulted from the increased understanding and understanding of the teaching of this epistle.
