Course Objectives:
1. To instill a sense of competence and personal power in your own health and wellness.
2. To understand the scope of wellness and the scientific foundation upon which wellness guidelines are shaped.
3. To understand the biology of disease and the appropriate preventative strategies.
4. To understand the connection between stress, nutrition and exercise to achieve wellness.
5. To provide a foundation in the understanding of the central nervous system structure and function, and the relationship between our brain and behavior.
Grading:
A letter grade will be given based on performance of three exams, assignments, class participation and online quizzes on T-Square. On a 100% scale each is worth:
Grades Revised Original [270 points possible]
Exams 50% [135 points (50%)]
Classroom Questions, quizzes, in-class activities 30% [85 points (31.5%)]
Worksheets 16% [40 points (14.8%)]
CRC Activity 4% [10 points (3.7%)]
