Applying Methodology in Research

When doing a research on a particular topic it is important to think first about what the purpose of the research. Most of researches conduct to help solve a problem or a situation. Then the research continues with the evidence that the person can gather to help solve the problem. This paper will explain how the research process with problems in Health Care. The research will be childhood obesity.
Definition of the Problem
The research is conducted to help solve childhood obesity in England. They also wanted to see if obesity is a health concern for this type of susceptible group (Croft, December 2011). The study was a concern to health

They did the study to see if the obesity is as significant a problem in the England population as it in the general population. They did the study on girls and boys to see which gender were the most likely to become obese at the age of eight teen. The study as well helped parents or caregivers to learn how to control the children from becoming obese at a young age.
Research Questions The researchers wanted to discover if the obesity were coming from what the children was eating or was it inherited from the family. Once they could determine which was the most cause of the obesity, they wanted to do a research on better ways to prevent this from happening in the future for children. They as well wanted to know if the obesity were mostly in their culture or was it from other cultures as well.
Hypothesis/Hypotheses
The study of hypothesis is a specific, testable predictable about what he or she expect to happen in his or her study (Kendra, Jan.2011). In the study was conducted the research showed there were so many children were obese in England. In the study, they predicted they were going to discover why there were so many children overweight or obese. After discovering what the cause of the obesity was, they will discover ways to slow the childhood obesity down. There were no other study hypotheses done for this

    Obesity in children and adolescents is a serious issue, with many health and social consequences that often continue into adulthood. An attempt is made here to study the nature and causes of obesity in children. Initial focus is on the origins of obesity; how family eating patterns, environmental and lifestyle, genetic inheritance, are crucial factors. Lifestyle and eating habits play an important part in childhood obesity. The long-term effects of this social scourge are discussed, and possible solutions for prevention explored.
Firstly, it is important to gain an understanding of what obesity is. According to Wlardlow (2000), obesity is defined as a condition characterized by excess body fat. It is also defined as the condition of a person being 20 percent above average weight. Generally speaking, consumption of foods high in sugar and fats lead to obesity. Alcohol intake can also contribute to the condition, due to its high sugar content. Obesity is a serious medical disease that affects 20-25 percent of children and adolescents in Australia. It is the second leading cause of preventable death after smoking (Fitzgerald, 2000). According to research, everyone has and needs fat tissue in their bodies. When there is too much body fat, the result is obesity (World Book Multimedia Encyclopedia, 1996). Obesity can be measured by calculating the Body Mass Index (BMI), which is a mathematical calculation used to identify overweight and obesity in adults, children and adolescents.
There are many factors that contribute to obesity, including lack of adequate physical activity, a sedentary lifestyle, eating habits, environment, family habits and genetic inheritance (Vatta, 2000). The environment in which a child lives has a great effect on how healthy the child will be. A healthy environment that promotes a healthy diet is one that encourages consumption of nutritious foods in reasonable amounts, and regular physical activity.
