Contention: Veteran Assistance Programs can’t handle the overload (292) Subpoint A: Many veterans are homeless, commit suicides, or require counselors for alcohol abuse. McLean, Wayne. "Drones Are Cheap, Soldiers Are Not: A Costbenefit Analysis of
War." The Conversation. The Conversation US Inc, 25 June 2014. Web. 05 Mar. 2015. “On top of this there are further hidden social costs: veterans account for 20% of US suicides, nearly 50,000 veterans are at risk of homelessness, and one in eight veterans between 2006 and 2008 were referred to counselors for alcohol abuse. When these costs are combined, future medical outlay for veterans of the Iraq and Afghan missions are estimated to be US$836.1 billion. In this context, the benefits of soliderless modes of operation to military planners are clear.” Analysis: Putting boots on the ground endangers a lot of soldiers and in putting them in harms way not only leads to a risk to their lives, but also leads to and increase demand for Veterans Affairs and other assistance programs. These cannot handle such an increase, and therefore this plan would cost the US an extreme sum of money as well as harm the programs the money is often going towards.

Is ISIS Really a Threat to the United States? ISIS is a newly formed group that operates in the Eastern part of the world. The goal of this group is to create an Islamic state across Sunni areas of Iraq and in Syria. Currently, they control hundreds of square miles all over Iraq and Syria; this number is growing greater everyday. I believe that ISIS presents very little threat to the United States as a whole. The goal of this paper is to establish if the U.S is indeed, threatened by this terrorist group known as ISIS.…

In years past, viewers primarily watched Super Bowl ads on their TVs. Now, many people watch from alternative devices, such as their phones or tablets. As a result, they end up sharing these ads online after watching them. In fact, Super Bowl 2015 commercials were shared online 9 million times, which is an increase of 73% from the previous year, a number that was revealed in Unruley’s new white paper “The Science of Sharing 2015.” As a result of these numbers, a wise advertiser will recognize the propensity of their audience to watch online and share online and will design a short, either funny or heartwarming ad that will prompt sharing and tweets.…

The Super Bowl is an American tradition full of cuisine, laughter, and competition. Millions of people have social gatherings to enjoy the game. However, sometimes the Super Bowl is not the main event. For years, Super Bowl commercials have been distinguished for their creativity, delivering laughter, sorrow, and at times a call to action for their audience. “Best Buds,” a Super Bowl commercial from 2014, was a light-hearted moment where the public was presented with the friendship of a dog and a horse intertwined with a beer corporation. On the other hand, Super Bowl commercials have been criticized often for their lack of meaning in today’s society; Bruce Horovitz’s article “Why Super Bowl ads don’t matter anymore” went so far as to say that…

The term War on Terror refers to an ongoing, worldwide campaign against terrorism led by the United States and supported by several other countries, most notoriously England and members of NATO. The term was first used under George W. Bush’s administration following the September 11, 2001 attacks against the United States, where 2996 people lost their lives and more than 6000 others were injured. Within months after the 9/11 attacks, the US sent troops to Afghanistan because this was believed to be the operational base for Al-Qaeda, at the same time the US looked to dethrone the Taliban regime and ‘’Bring Democracy’’ to this middle eastern country. Two years after the occupation, and without yet finding Bin Laden, the US embarks in yet another military invasion, this time against Iraq. This War on Terror has been worldwide known as the Bush War, due to his effusive support and controversy.…

The United States has started the countdown to launch a new war in Iraq. The deployment of 250,000 troops, fighter jets, aircraft carriers and heavy weaponry in the Persian Gulf shows we are on the eve of war, which most commentators say will soon happen. The United States decided to present their own intelligence report before the Security Council, in order to convince the public opinion in America and worldwide that the war is now inevitable, but there are a lot of reasons that explain why the United States should not invade the Iraq. The war we are trying to start will prove two things. First, that American power is overwhelming and irresistible. Second that US is more patient, persevering and much more powerful that the whole Islamic movement. To destroy a highly dispersed global net is something that nobody can do very well. "Bush seeks for an almost complete control in this strategic area of the planet - main oil reserves worldwide -reinforcing the rule and influence of US in world matters, looking for co-opting US peoples behind this counter-revolutionary enterprise" said one of the journalists of CNN.…
