Are Jails Necessary?
What would the world be like without jails? Some might think that it might be good; some might think that it might be bad. It would be a terrible idea not to have jails. It would change society back to renaissance or barbarian times where one did not even get punished for killing another person. Without jails, a major increase in committed crimes around the world, and a major increase in the death rate would be the ending results, and with jails, people are given the chance to change their ludicrous behavior. It would be an awful idea not to have jails. To begin, jails prevent an increase in committed crimes around the world. If people have confidence that no punishment will result from their actions, they will think that they can get away with anything. That includes robbery, assault, murder, grand theft auto, and many other things. Just imagine, people running around just robbing other people and hurting innocent people along the way and these criminals would simply get away with it if the world did not have jails. On the other hand, having jails could backfire for certain people. What if someone weak was falsely trialed and was guilty? He would have to go to jail weak, and unable to defend himself. That could be the only downside to having jails. Having jails is just so much better than without so it is somewhat hard to relate to a person who believes that jails are not of any help to society. Secondly, imagine the amount of deaths in the United States if jails did not exist. The death rate would increase by a large amount if jails did not exist. The people of the United
States always have problems with each other and sometimes it is even a permanent hatred for two individuals against each other.
