How do you know weather the Socs or the Greasers have it tough? Trying to decide is difficult. You may think you know but unless you see it through their eyes then you can decide who has is tougher.Greasers and Socs are people too. They do have other lives. They both have problems and tough times.It would be way better if there were no Socs or Greasers,just normal people. Socs pick on Greasers sometimes and want to start fights. Some Greasers are childish and do not care. Socs say there life is not perfect,that they have to work harder and be smarter in school because their parents expect more. They do not respect the greasers at all. “You can’t win even if you whip us.You’ll still be where you were-at the bottom. And we’ll still be the lucky ones with all the breaks. So it doesn’t do any good fighting. It doesn’t prove a thing-we’ll forget it if you win or if you don’t. Greasers will still be greasers and socs will be socs. Sometimes I think it’s the ones in the middle that are really the lucky stiffs…” This shows that the fighting and killing will not do anything good and can not solve a thing. This also shows that the socs would not care if the greasers lost or won. “Greasers can’t walk alone too much or they’ll get jumped,or someone will come by and scream ‘Greaser!’ at them,which doesn’t make you feel too hot, if you know what I mean. We get jumped by the socs.”This explains how the socs do not show respect or peace against the greasers.This also proves the socs are looking for fights for no reason.I am not saying the greasers are innocent because they are not, but the socs attitude reflects towards the way they are causing the problems and the
