How Did The Greasers Struggle More Than The Socs
The Greasers
Things are rough all over (The Outsiders).

Based on what I read, The Greasers struggle more due to the lack of support from their parents. According to the book The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton, The Greasers had more trouble than the Socs because of the sacrifices they made and the violence they were exposed to. The Socs have the wealth to have a good life but decide to make poor choices...while the Greasers make significant sacrifices.Because of the sacrifices they made and the violence they were exposed to, the “Greasers” struggled more than the “Socs”.

Do you think being Social is cool? I think that being a Social, or “Soc,” is way better than being a Greaser. In the Outsiders, Socs roguishly jump people. I would much rather gallantly people than have switchblades which don’t help them. Also, Socs have a lot of money. Money gets you cool belongings.…

How would you react if you were poor, family issues, and had hard lifestyles ? This connects back to the story “ The Outsiders” and how the Greasers struggle more than the Soc.“Things are rough all over” for the Greasers. Greasers have many problems that goes as far as money to family. Several events from the story, as well as evidence from the article, “Alarming numbers of Teenagers are Quiting School to Go to Work” support my claim that. The Greasers come from very poor families. Some may have to drop out of school just to support their families. They are very misunderstood and misguided since they enjoy having fights and breaking the laws. This supports my claim that Greasers have it rougher than the Socs. Although…

    H. Rider Haggard once said, “Man doeth this and doeth that from the good or evil of his heart; but he knows not to what end his sense doth prompt him; for when he strikes he is blind to where the blow shall fall, nor can he count the airy threads that weave the web of circumstance”. Though, when it comes to the horrific events that occurred in the novel The Outsiders, who is to blame? The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton, covers the life of two rival gangs, the lower class Greasers and the upper class Socs. The feud between the two groups grows out of hand after one of the Socs is killed by a Greaser by the name of Johnny. From then onwards a ripple effect leads to the death of two other boys and a rumble in which both gangs clash. These treacherous…

they are both social outcasts for the activities, another reason one might think the greasers are the group the title is talking about is that the book places Soc’s on some sort of social throne that towers above everyone else, but in reality the Soc’s are just as socially outcast as the…

The Socs also endure pains and sufferings in their life as well. The source states,(Hinton 128-129), how Bob was spoiled a lot by his parents, and he didn’t enjoy it either. By saying this, it shows that he was frustrated that his parents would just spoil him and not listen to him. It also means, that he would probably take out the anger he has, from his parents not listening to him, on another kid who would most likely be a greaser. The Socs also get out of trouble easily. For example, in the article “Sentence in Texas teen's fatal DWI wreck stirs ire”, it shows that a kid gets out of federal law by being rich. Likewise, the Socs can get out of trouble by bribing their way out. But money isn’t always the answer. So, even the Socs are rich,…

The greasers and the Socs are 2 communities that dislike each other as you can tell as you read the novel, these communities are more likely known as the “Cool Guys Groups” the way my definition a nd the novel has a comparison is because just like Ponyboy which was a single person at the beginning of the novel basically had no one but then as you could get in detail about ponyboy you saw that he not only was a single person but he was apart of a community which was “The Greasers” and he had 2 boys that he really could depend on which was Dally and Johnny. Pony boy saw Dally and Johnny as his brothers even though they didn't have the same blood but he still saw them as brothers that he could depend on and he can also say that pony body saw them as if nobody could support him with is decisions he knew that they wouldSome quotes from the novel comparing my community definition with what the novels definition are that towards the end when Johnny was slow dying he knew that Pony would have some hard times when he knew that Johnny wasn't gong to be there to support him in those hard times and with the decisions Pony was going to make so Johnny told Pony, “Stay gold, Ponyboy, stay gold.” also another quote from dally comparing my definition of community is when he told pony boy, “You get tough like me…
