Are parables effective ways of spreading truth about the gospel?
Parables are frequently used throughout the bible for various purposes. First, they helps people understand the biblical truth more concrete way. Second, people will see in their own situations objectively. I believe that parables are an effective way of spreading truth about the gospel. In most cases, when people hear the parables, they relate the story to their own life and began to have better understanding to the truth about the gospel. The parable of the wicked husbandmen talks about a landowner who had husbandmen to farm and plant grapes or fruits. Once in a while, a landowner would send one of his servants to gather the fruits. But the husbandmen were greedy and selfish, so when the servants came by, the husbandmen would slaughter them to keep all the fruits for themselves. The husbandmen are the people of the world, and the land owner is God. Whenever God sends His followers, the people of the world would beat one and kill another. And when God sends His son Jesus, they kill Him for being accused as the false gospel. By telling this parable, people would truly understand the truth about the gospel, and it’s the most effective way to spread the truth about the gospel. Parable sometimes helps to see their own situation more accurately. The parable of king David is about when king David spots a naked woman taking a shower. King David then sleeps with her and the woman gets pregnant. The woman turned about to be one of the soldier’s wife. David calls him and tells him to go home and take care of his wife and ‘his’ kid. The soldier refuses his request. Then David sends the soldier to the most dangerous part of the battlefield, and the soldier dies during the battle. David then meets a guy named Nathan. He tells David about a parable about a rich man who would not take from his own flocks and herd to feed a traveler on his journey, but
