Are the religious ideas of the Upanishads different from the religious ideas in the Rig Veda?
Upanishads and rig Veda both have different religious ideas. Rig Veda consists of 1028 hymns dedicated to Indra, Agni, and Soma on the other hand Upanishads contains the philosophical concepts and ideas of Hinduism. (Upanishads)
Vedas are the scriptures of Hinduism and it is divided into 4 parts. Rigveda, Samaveda, Yajurveda, Atharvaveda, and Upanishads are also considered as a part of Veda as the end of the Veda.

The Rig Veda contains 1028 hymns, of which more than 800 appear to be simple and 220 are composite and consist of some 780 parts. These hymns are dedicated to the Rigvedic deities. The Rigveda was composed between 1450-1350 BCE. It divided into parts, two- third hymns of the Rigveda are related to the gods Agni and Indra and the rest is about Rudra, Ashvins, Savitar, and Surya. These are references to the Soma; whose juice was an energizer. Rigveda contains a sense of connection between Nature and the Rishis (Visionaries). These hymns are in the praise of deities and asking for their help in battles and wealth as well as for good life. The Rig Veda also contains the Indian system of castes. The God Vishnu played a minor role in the Rigveda but later he became one of the most important God in Hinduism.
