Argument For Immigration

Immigration is one of the main problems we have in our society in current events especially in this country. One could argue that the United States is the best country in the world and as a proud American I would agree to this simple yet true fact. United States has been home to the free and the brave. But many forget the foundations and roots that this country was founded on, it was founded on by Immigrants to make a better living and have a better life for their children and their children after. But the ignorance of the American people have been blinded them by this simple truth and have categorized people into different ethnic groups instead of Uniting as one because at the end of the day we are all Immigrants. Columbus in 1492 put a flag in this soil dose not mean that the Europeans are now the rightful owners and founders of this great continent. According to the criminal justice system that we abide I can not go around taking cars and call ownership because “I discovered it,” if someone were to do that, they would be thrown into jail for the next three to the five years of their life. So the rightful owners one could say would be the natives, but since most of their people were killed off and now it just makes this country of immigrants. While some people could be smuggling drugs through illegal immigration ,does not mean the everybody does it. Illegal immigration should not be a crime because the United States is the land of opportunity, people who immigrate to the United States do it for good reasons, and at the end of the day everyone in this country is an immigrant. Immigration is the beginning and the creation of this nation, everyone who is from european and african decent are immigrants to this land.
The native americans were the ones that owned this land hundreds of years ago; they had lived here within a community for years. The english/european started to travel to this “new world” for new opportunities and chances to make a better living. They thought of this as a great chance to build their own home, have new acres of land, to make an impact in their society. This started to happen because in Europe the population was so big that the second children and third and fourth of the family would not receive anything so they sought an opertuniy in this country. Which makes one relate to the fact, that if all these europeans could migrate to the new world for better opportunities, why cant people of current times to do the same. Thats the whole point isn't it? The search for better opportunities (#theamericandream). To invent, to create, to design, to make money these are all factors of illegal immigration being brought here. For example in my parents native land (Colombia) the drug war between the Cali cartel and the Medellin Cartel had become very dangerous for my grandfather who was a politician had to flee the country for safety of the family. Of course they had come here with the propper paperwork, but after you stay here over certain time they had become an illgal immgrant and to tell you the truth from a child’s point of view it is very difficult to deal with. Thankfully now my whole family are citizens or residents in this country but it comes with a price and hard work. But the outcome was that my father is safe, my father is healthy, my father has a good job, and he’s living the american dream to some extent. The way we could process illegal immigrants instead of deporting them all at once is seeing if they came here with the proper paperwork, no crimes, and motive to stay here. But of course all this requires
money and nobody got time for that in this country, such a long process would take years.
