Argumentative Essay: Four Day School Week
Kids always love three day weekends.Teachers also love them. Well some schools have actually have made it a permanent thing. Kids go to school for five days a week and sometimes they do not get enough sleep. Schools should have a four day school week for many reasons that will all be in this essay.
The relationship of the teachers and students will be better because they will have a longer break.(Bradley). Teachers and students will have more time to rest and sleep in. Students will have a chance to get an after-school job. Teachers will be able to spend more time with their family. Students will have more time with parents because students are with their teachers than with their parents, but that does not involve when they are asleep.

They also do things called three-twelve where they go to work for three days and work for twelve hours. We could go to school for the same amount of time and get out at the same time. It could teach students more responsibility and they would know how the real world works.
Kids would have more time to study for tests and work on homework. They would have an extra day for homework and to study. They would have more time for sports and clubs. Students will be able to read more. They will have more assignments done which will bring their grades up and then more people will graduate and be successful.
There are some cons to a four day week like having to pay for babysitting costs. Parents would have to pay about 100 dollars a month in babysitting costs. That would be about 1,500 dollars a year. Parents would also have to pay more money for food on the three day weekend. The kids could be abused at home and are only ever safe at school. Some other kids might not eat at home and would be hungry at home for three days.
A four day school week has many pros , but it also has its cons. In this essay I went over all of the reasons it is good , but also some reasons why it can be bad. I do not want kids to want a four day school week because it is just a longer weekend , but because it will help the school and

Would you classify yourself as a “Monday-Hater”? A vast majority of students immensely detest Monday because it signifies the end of a relaxing weekend and the beginning of another stressful, busy week. However, if a four day school week was implemented then Monday could be tagged on to the weekend and everyone would become “Tuesday-Haters”. Woodbury High School (WHS) would benefit from a switch to a four day school week because it would save District 833 money, increase student attendance, and decrease the amount of stress in students.…

Changing the five day school week has been argued for and against due the controversy as to whether or not it would actually be beneficial to students and teachers. When approaching the idea, many people would like to believe that five day school weeks are the most efficient and productive way to educate our youth. What is often overlooked, however, is that it is causing students to dread school more than they already do, and lessen their willingness to be in or attentive at school. Not only this, but many teachers easily get behind on either grading or lesson planning, while the school could actually save money when switching to this schedule. By refreshing the way the school schedule has previously been, we can address the issue of exhausted students who don 't truly learn anything, teachers who are overwhelmed with work and the economic questions within America 's schools. Providing both students and teachers with a more equal week of break and school time by having Wednesdays off will make students more willing to attend school, give the teachers time to furnish their lesson plans and give the school a break in costs.…

If there is a busy schedule between both parents during the day, Fridays off for students will help parents work and not worry about their kids if their kids were to go to a family member's house or sleep over a friend's house. Parents will save money if students go to their family or friends house instead of the parents hiring a baby sitter. A four day school week may come in handy if you have the entire Friday off to schedule appointments with doctors or dentists. If there was a Friday a student was taken out of school to go to the dentist, but the dentist was packed, he would be late to go back to school. Four day school weeks may alter that a little, say on a normal Friday, that the dentist would be full of students, but if there was no school on Friday, then there would be any line to wait in, and no rush to get back to school before school is over. The other upside of having Fridays off is that parents can do errands with out interruptions. If students have Fridays off, they can go to a friend's house so that their parents can run errands without interruption. According to Jami Dow, a mother who moved to Hot Springs, South Dakota ( a district that has a four day school week) three years ago to be closer to her parents, said, "Many families use the extra day to schedule doctor and dentist…

More time means a more flexible schedule for homework and assignments. Shorter school days, as short as 180/365, 0.493150685 long days or about half the typical hours a school day lasts. Imagine only having to go to school only 3 hours a day! The school year would be longer but the days would be super short. Plus, after school help could last longer for those who need it, and more time for students and teachers to focus on their personal lives, relieving stress for everyone. Ultimately, with all that extra time, students have more time to focus and study. In a year's total, it would give at least 540 more hours of free time, so there would be literally no excuse for late or missing work unless a student has super unique circumstances. information can be retained faster, save time for the teachers, and improve test grades for example my cousin lives in georgia and her year round schooling is going great she’s in the same grade as me and she is farther ahead of me. Less schools hours per day would mean less information that would have to be memorized per day. Miss days will have less effects on information. More ability to take time to do good work. Less have to review at one time. More time for tests review, and less…

Many people don't realize that five days of school is too much for students. Some school districts have changed to a four day school week due to the benefits. However, some people don't agree at all. I believe that school districts made the right decision by changing to a four day school weeks. Many schools in the United States are beginning to change their school calendar so their students attend class all year round. The changes still allow the students time off in the summer, but they do not have the three months of break most students in America receive traditionally. Instead, they get a break of a couple weeks in the summer, and the remainder of the time is divided up and put into other breaks throughout the year. All schools in America should switch to a year-round calendar to accommodate the different and higher level of learning needed to be successful in our changing world and society. The traditional school system was designed many years ago when our country was an agricultural nation. Therefore, the school calendar was developed having a long break in the summer so students could assist their family with cultivating crops and other aspects of farm life. The traditional school calendar was not a calendar for higher learning, and should be extended to meet the needs of modern day students. There are many explanations as to why the traditional school calendar should be changed.…
