A study done by the NEA shows that people who read for entertainment are more likely than those who do not to go to museums and concerts and three times as likely to participate in charity work. This shows that people who read are more in tune to the world around them than those who do not. Reading makes you a well rounded and informed person.
Reading also improves your imagination. Have you ever been stuck while writing an essay for a class and you can’t think of any ideas at all? You can easily pull out a good book and begin reading it and before you know it, the light bulb inside of your head is turned on and the book you were reading sparked your imagination.
