Argumentative Essay: Women In The Military
Women in Combat Women in the military are just a distraction to the men. I don't see why women are a distraction, they go through the same training and pain and everything else. As women and men go through the same stuff everyday the men still think women are not capable of being in the military. Women train right along men everyday and that's not a problem but when it comes to the actual war it becomes a problem, that's why the women get the easier jobs in combat. Women get the less dangerous job in the military so it's less distracting for the males. The women being a distraction is kind of how everyone looks at Jim in the book ‘Huck Finn’. They all see Jim as a slave and as someone to entertain people. Women were also captured in combat to be used as leverage to get the enemy to back down. Most people assume women can't handle being in combat, due to the training and all the stress it puts on them. Even though women were strong enough to take care of a big family with very little help. Just like how a seven year old girl from ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ took care of her …show more content…
If you were a nurse in the military, you could easily find employment as a civilian.. Women interested in furthering their defense careers after the military may consider going into law enforcement, providing private or personal security, or trying to land a military advisor position with a defense contractor. It's also important to note that since these women will have the opportunity to gain the same experience as their male counterparts in the combat world, they will also be just as competitive as their male counterparts in the post-military job market. Women into combat roles will be gradual and so the integration of women into those male dominated contracting jobs will also be gradual. It will happen so slowly over time that you probably won’t even notice the small shifts here and

Women in combat In the article, “Military women in Combat: Why making it official matters” composed by Jena McGregor, the author clearly makes a strong stance regarding women in the military. One point being, that at least 14,00 new jobs were made unrestricted, while 250,00 jobs in the military still remain restricted to men only. The main point in the article is difficult to point out at first , because the author seems to be in favor for women’s advancement in the military without combat and gives example to support her argument.…

There wasn't much demand for nurses at the beginning of the war but when things became more complicated they were needed more and more each and every day. Most men that fought in the war claimed to prefer female nurses over males (Haugen 45). Not only because they thought nursing was a woman's job, not only because the men who…

“In 1901 and 1908 the establishment of the Army and Navy Nurse Corps opened the door for women in the military but ever so slightly. It wasn't until the United States got involved in World War One that some parts of the government got serious about using woman power.” (2) The Army had trouble trying to find a way to enlist women. “The Navy simply ignored the War Department dissenters and quickly recruited women. Nearly 13,000 women enlisted in the Navy and the Marine Corps on the same status as men and wore a uniform blouse with insignia” (2)…

Speaking from a woman who is in the military I’m going to elaborate on why I think that women shouldn’t serve in combat positions. It’s scientifically proven that women doesn’t physically perform at the same level as men. For an example, the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) is broken down into two categories’, women and men and in which they have different age groups in which women are held to a lower standards than men. The APFT have different requirements when you turn a certain age meaning your body can’t handle as much as it did when you were younger. Same thing with women and men you can’t hold them to the same standard when their body is constructed differently. Physically a woman skeletal system is less dense and prone to have more breakages than a man. Psychological concerns are that women would be place on the front line and then get pregnant to escape from combat. Another reason I think women shouldn’t go into some combat positions such as sniper school is because you have to be aware that they camp out for days, but a woman can’t do that especially if they are on their menstrual cycle. We as women have to realize is that we can’t do everything as men.…

Did you know that females fought in the revolutionary war? Yes, women, they had to disguise themselves as men and change their names so they wouldn’t be recognized. In the usa today it’s normal to see a female in the military. Women’s rights evolved a lot over there and still are. In older years all women did was cook, clean, and take care of the house, nowhere near the military.…

If any of you have a family member in the US Army or the Navy, I'm sure you're very proud of them, protecting and serving this nation we call home. I wonder who has a family member that has a woman in the Army or war. But I guess that that's a problem. A lot of people would argue against women in combat. Women should be allowed in combat because men and women are equal as is everyone else, they have the right to serve and protect our nation just as much as men do, and any woman is capable to do so.…

Everyone works extraordinarily courageous when danger is experience. Women are not left out. They work as hard to ensure they achieve what is required of them. No gender is designed for courageous acts to be in the military solely. Women and men can work hand in hand to fight the battles and emerge victorious. Women have been restricted from artillery, infantry, armor and other combat roles in specialty. They are recruited to perform administrative work, nurse the ill and wounded, do laundry and cook for the troops. I strongly disagree with the person who came up with this plan. Women should be allowed in the army not to cook but to serve as their male counterparts since no gender is better suited for some jobs and careers (Lianas…

Prior to the Civil War women were considered very frail and weak people. Women were known for the house work they did to take care of their families while the men were away in war. Women’s equality was an ongoing battle in society. Women wanted to begin to stand up for themselves and what they believed in. Both the Union and the Confederacy forbid women being enlisting into the war. As time went on the roles of the women during the Civil War changed dramatically.…

I think that women are just as capable of being able to hold down a combat position just as good as a man in the military. I am a veteran of the United States Army, and I served three years in the military. I have firsthand experience on what a day in the life of a female soldier is. I was stationed at fort Lewis Washington and I was assigned orders to first brigade in the twenty-fifth infantry battalion. Our company and battalion was a majority of men, and there was like ten to each woman on post.…

All men are created equal; this includes women as well. Over a decade of years, women certainly have come a long way to gain the same kind of equal equality as men, such as being able to vote and being able to join the armed forces and fight alongside men. As growing up I was always told that playing dolls is a girl’s toy and playing a car is a boy’s toy. In my cultural, I was taught that girl couldn’t work in a male job, and I was taught to do housework while the men did nothing around the house. In my house/culture, the men are the provider while the women in my opinion are the servant in which caters to every male in the household. If people were to think about combat in the army many just picture a male behind the military ACU (advanced…
