will. Being forbidden to do so would point out not only the immorality, but also the flaws in the ideologies and legislation of such society. Solid example is the fact that, in that case, the state forces the individual to get married in order to feel parental love. Furthermore, the individual is not the only one to profit from the adoption process, as the child is provided with home, security, protection, and most importantly – love; namely, the values that affect a growing individual during its maturation. Additionally, the child is better off in an incomplete family, than in the orphanage, where the living conditions are horrible and do not meet any of the above listed values as criteria. All of these reasons allude to the fact that being adopted by a single person can have no side effects, yet bring joy to both parties. However, there are people who claim that living in an incomplete family can actually make things worse.
While the concept of orphanage is ideally presented as an institution where both fatherly and motherly aspects are cherished, the single parent can only offer one – either mother, or father figure to the child. Consequently, the child may grow up to become an incomplete individual, suffering from some sort of neurosis. What is more, the child adopted by a single person, gets to socialize with children who have both parents, whereas in the orphanage all children are equal. As a result, other sorts of traumas can occur, the post-traumatic effects of which can reflect on the entire life of the adopted child. Lastly, the reason why a person would adopt can have twisted background, as some people do it with the intention to exploit the poor orphan. Therefore, we cannot neglect the fact that the risk of things going wrong is quite real. To sum up, there really are some sides, which can reflect upon the negative note. At the end of the day, it is the priceless feeling of love everyone deserves that justifies all risks. No great thing in life can be achieved from the comfort zone, and no one should be allowed to stand in the way of someone’s happiness. In my opinion, everyone should be allowed to adopt a child, if they meet certain morally inflicted criteria. It can mean the world for someone, or for two of them! We all deserve to be happy. The bottom line is – after we perish from
Earth’s surface, what matters is what we have left behind.
