These events do not represent all of the police brutality that has occurred, but lay out the groundwork for the problems that still exist today. This occurred back in 1992 in Los Angeles, when a video recording where five policemen beat an unarmed African American with batons. There are many different victims from all over the u.s. Trayvon Martin was one of the victims that brought police brutality to people’s attention n the year of 2012. Police Excessive Force. (n.d.). He was a seventeen year old black male that was walking home from the store when he realized that he was being followed by a strange car. At the time he was on the phone with a friend explaining everything to her. Police Excessive Force. (n.d.). He did not know whether to run or to just keep calm and continue to be normal. Zimmerman who is the killer of Trayvon, got out of the car and began to address Martin. Neighbors say they heard loud talking and one even said they heard a male yell help a numerous amount of times. Trayvon was found shot face down on the ground.. Dead! Zimmerman was told when he had called the police about seeing Trayvon around the neighborhood to leave the scene not to follow the young boy. He did anyway and in result the young boy is
