Arguments Against Racial Profiling

Racial profiling has been around all around the world and is used by many people to provide safety to other people. Racial profiling is practiced by many police officers or law enforcers to provide safety to the community but they sometimes get carried away and abuse others instead. Racial profiling should be used for the safety of others but it should never be abused. It makes sense to use racial profiling when a crime has taken place because they might be a suspect. According to Linda Chavez in her article Everything Isn’t Racial Profiling there was a passenger, Walid Shater, who was interrogated along with other people. He was carrying a loaded gun and was questioned and claimed that “he was mistreated and denied the right to fly because he was an Arab American” (Chavez 576). The pilot from the plane was doing his job in providing safety to the rest of the passengers. The terrorist incident that happened in September 11 brought fear to many people. There has been more security to secure that there would not be any more terrorist attacks. Racial profiling is used to bring security to the rest of the people from what has happened in the past.
