Racial profiling, stereotypes, and racism sometimes can be mixed up to have the same meaning. Although they might be associated with each other, they are not the same. When police brutality occurs, racial profiling is not at fault. Yes, it can be seen as an officer abusing their authority, but it is mainly based on fear, hatred, or racism. By not accepting racial profiling, not only is it putting more people at harm amongst themselves, but also it does not do anything about police brutality. The reason for it being seen negatively, is because of the police brutality, which is not based on racial profiling and instead on racism. Racial profiling should be accepted in order to provide protection to everyone. It should only be used when trying to protect the people and aggression should not be used unless there is proof or certainty.
