Racial Profiling is being biased by the law enforcement, they target people based on their race, ethnicity or their religion. Somebody assuming you are doing something wrong based on your race or the color of your skin. Me personally I have never been racially profiled, but I was once with my friend that is black and she was accused by the owner of the store for stealing when she was not really stealing. I think that racial profiling is wrong, you should treat people the way that you want to be treated. Racial Profiling is destroying the mindset of people and how they think and act. Racial Profiling is an unfair assumption and it is defiantly not the way to handle that type of a situation. In the article, “Jim Crow Policing” written by Bob Herbert on February 2, …show more content…
2010, says that 84% of the police stops in 2009 were either black or Hispanic people that live in New York.
He states and thinks that the stops they are making are wrong and a form of harassment. When the blacks and Hispanics were stopped they were frightened and they did not know what they were doing wrong. Quotes by Herbert in this article, “Humiliation of black and Hispanic New Yorkers, including children, by the police officers do not feel that they need to treat them the same no matter their age.” The second quote is “Even the official reasons given by the police for the stops are actually laughably bogus.” I think he is still trying to get through to the readers that it is wrong and a form of harassment. In the article “Trayvon Martin shooter told cops teenager went for his gun” by Matt Gutman, blacks and Hispanics were profiled for having a record and not even knowing it, I think the police officers
just make assumptions.” George Zimmerman says he shot and killed Trayvon Martin because he looked suspicious and he was wearing a black hoodie. But a lot of people wear black hoodies I know I do wear them on a daily basis. The movie 42 proved that even if you did nothing wrong and were the nicest person on planet earth all the blacks were treated very poorly. The article called “the guardian” was important because it had important facts and the victims explained and proved what they had to go through, they also explained how it affected them and the people around them. In the article “The Reality of Racial Profiling” they explain how it is unconstitutional and how it goes against peoples rights as protection.
All in all, everybody knows that racial profiling is wrong everyone is equal and I was raised to treat everybody the way that you would want to be treated. Love everybody just as much as you can love yourself, put others before yourself it is not all about you, you know. We should except everybody instead of judging them and being biased based on the color of their skin, or their race. Racial Profiling needs to be put to a stop.
