One of the fundamental arguments for Atheists is there is no strong evidence of a God’s existence there is also no logical explanation for the existence of a God. Atheists use science and theory as the main way of studying the world around us and how the …show more content…
Occam’s razor is a philosophical idea, which was recognised in the 14th century by a man named William of Occam. Occam’s razor is simply: “Entities should not be multiplied unnecessarily.” Which simply means the simplest answer is the best answer. Atheists can use this as an argument for Atheism since the whole universe can be explained by scientific cosmology and the theory of evolution, why must we create the idea of another being called God?
An argument used quite frequently by religious believers is the “First Cause Argument.” This is the idea that everything that happens has a cause. The universe must have had a cause and that cause must have been God. Atheists can easily respond with: “What was the cause of God?” and a religious beliver could respond with:”God is perfect, God didn’t need a cause.” Well if that is the case then why did God create the universe? The definition of omnipotence is to have unlimited authority or power. As God is said to be omnipotent this means he/she falls under the omnipotence paradox. The omnipotence paradox is a family of paradoxes that contradict the overall definition of omnipotence. If a God is omnipotent then they should be able to create a task that they are unable to do which contradicts the definition of omnipotence. Some of the paradoxes include: Can God create a stone so heavy that even himself cannot lift? If God has the ability to live an eternal life, he cannot have the ability to kill himself.
It is also said that God is Omniscient, which just like Omnipotence make him/her fall under the Omniscient paradox. The definition of Omniscience is to know all things. If God was to know everything, then he/she can’t forget and if he/she can’t forget then he/she doesn’t know what it’s like to remember
